Lexi's debut

This weekend is Lexi's debut at our spring agility trial. I am SUPER nervous. I'm worried mostly because there has been a lot of talk about her, her potential, and how we've been training her.

I just want her to have fun (well, and listen some of the time ) but I don't like worrying about everyone's expectations!

Also, I'm nervous because I'm the trial secretary for the show and I'm worried that something will go wrong, or I'll have messed something up. I had to learn how to do everything on my own, and it's been pretty stressful. This also may be our last trial with our club before we move, which makes me sad.

Oh, and we're supposed to get a huge storm on Saturday afternoon.

So if you get a second--send some good thoughts my way, I really appreciate it!

Good grief, Ashley, no wonder you're on stress overload!! Lexi's first trial...show secretary...moving.... Try to concentrate on having fun with Lexi if you can. I'm sure you've done everything possible as secretary to make the weekend a success, and the most important thing is for you and Lexi to have a good experience.

As for people's expectations, remember that Lexi doesn't know anything about that! That's the good news. She'll be the good girl you're used to so just try to make it a positive experience for her. Once you're in the ring, hopefully you'll forget everyone else. I'm always surprised that once I walk into the ring with Checkers, it's just the two of us and no matter how nervous I was going in I'm suddenly calm and happy to be there with her.

Above all, have a blast! It's all about you and Lexi...that's it. And good luck!! We want to know how it goes!

I am sure that you and she will do great! I will send you warm and good thoughts. I cannot wait to see the runs (I am sure you will video them for us to see!)

I know the stress you are feeling - I am the volunteer coordinator for our NADAC trials. This past one, I also was the Master Course builder for the first time - so lots of stress and lots of work. And I was running two dogs. Just have fun - after all that is the main objective!!!

Good luck!!!!!!

Good Luck!

That is a big undertaking being the show secretary and all. I give you a lot of credit.

Don't worry about expectations of other people. So many AWESOME dogs have good days and bad days. Just try and have fun. I can't tell you how many times trainers from our area, don't get Q's.

Keep us posted!!! I will be thinking about you guys.

Just said a prayer for you that everything will go fine. (Also, for the weather to be okay as well) You will be fine. ( I prayed for "stress removal" as well!!!)

Easier said than done, but try to relax and enjoy watching Lexi have fun!
She is young and what happens this weekend, whatever it is, is a drop in the bucket.

I don't listen to other people expections anymore as long as I met mine that's all that matters and in agility that's usually just not falling down or running into a pole or something.:smile2:

Good luck tomorrow. Just remember that what ever happens you still get to go home with a great dog at the end of the day.

Talk about stress!!! I hope you're able to relax some today. And try to tell yourself, no matter how Lexi does this weekend, rain or shine, she's still a baby dog and that means things can go either way. I think regardless, people will be impressed by her running.

Try to have fun and enjoy the club one last time. :)
