Monty is coughing/choking almost none stop

That vet is fortunate he couldn't hear the collective wrath of the Sheltie Nation--his ears would still be burning. Allowing that sweet boy to suffer that long still has me spitting nails.
Chris, you made me tear up.
Little Monty, you have the prayers, positive energy, light and love being sent your way by many.
Won't rest easy here till you give us a good news update, Darren!

Darren, please know you and Monty are in our prayers.

Dear St. Francis,
A certain little brown and white Sheltie fellow has insinuated himself int the hearts of all his friends at Nattering Springs. In a very short time, Monty's antics made him beloved by every one of us, here. Who else could have pulled off (with the help of his Dad), the Great International Mr. Broccoli Roundup or the I'm So Famous I Have My Own Book event.

Now Monty is ill. Please look upon him with kindness and care. Guide the veterinarians and technicians in wisdom and discernment. Ask the Good Shepherd to bestow His healing touch on this little guy. Bring comfort and strength to his Dad and all his family. Most of all, please bring Monty home soon. This we ask in His name,
Amen

Oh wow thank you so much Chris that is beautiful!!
Thank you again everyone, I knew this forum was great but you've really been my rock through this!

Little Monty is having to stay in overnight as he's still having a hard time breathing so needs help. His heart is OK but they are still investigating the cause of all this. They said it could be caused by a severe allergic reaction as he's not showing signs of the standard bacterial infection related to kennel cough. If all goes well tonight and he starts to get stronger then he'll be able to come home on Saturday or Sunday with his medication. He's a tough little guy so I'm sure he'll be back stronger than ever . I'm just not going to be able to settle until he is safely back home where he belongs!

At some point in the middle of the night I woke up thinking about Monty and wondering if he could have gotten stung by a bee or something else that could give him this reaction. So weird! Thanks so much for the update Darren I have been hovering over the computer waiting to hear - just so concerned. But he's young and fit and I'm sure he will be able to fight this off.

All of us love Monty!

I just hope you can figure out if it's an allergy, what it is so you don't have a repeat! Thanks for updating us - now get some sleep! :hugs

Thanks for the update, Darren. I think we've all been hovering over computers waiting for news. It's good that his heart isn't impacted but as Sharon said, I sure hope they can get a handle on what the allergen might have been so you don't have a repeat of this. Or at least get some good meds to have on hand if it does happen again. Praying that Monty perks up soon so he can get home to you and the girls. Are you able to visit him or is that a no-go with the virus? Sending hugs to all and gentle pats to precious Monty.

You've got me thinking Sharon, If it is an allergic reaction then we've done nothing different. The vet said it would have been very recent so that rules out the rabbit. He does play in the garden which gets a lot of bees and wasps so maybe he could have been stung. Other than that O can't think of anything different.

I'm hoping too Ann, I don't ever want to go through this again! I can't see him as he's in critical care and they need to keep it a sterile environment apparently.

Thanks for the update Darren! I too have been hovering over my computer and phone (even at grocery store I'm checking).
Praying for you both that Monty can come home tomorrow! I too am so very very angry at that vet for not seeing him yesterday! Who allows an animal to be sick like that for 24 hours?
I hope you can get some rest (hard to do I know), sending you a virtual hug :hugsand Piper and Finnie can't wait for Monty to get better, they want to read more of his exploits!
