Monty is coughing/choking almost none stop

Aww thanks everyone, I can't say enough how much you have all helped, it means a lot!
Gloria, yes they said he needs oxygen so he's going into a little 'oxygen tank' to help stabilize him.
He's then getting tested for heart disease first and then blood tests etc. I don't know how long he needs to stay in until they can find what the cause is and how well he responds to treatment. If all goes well then he's going to get fluid therapy and antibiotics, if it's something more complicated they will let me know.
Totally stressed out but luckily I have plenty of coffee to keep me going! It's not very nice seeing Mr B on the floor without Monty, he needs his sidekick back

Glad he is on oxygen to help his breathing!
Praying for Monty’s return to Mr B with meds on board so he can return home to you and the girls! I am sure they are worried sick over this too! Try to rest as you will have a new role as a nurse when Monty is discharged. Mr B can’t be expected to administer any medication! Hopefully, he will be home soon. I know they always recover better at home! Thanks for all the updates... none are too small to ease the minds of your SN family

Darren, please know you and Monty are in our prayers.

Dear St. Francis,
A certain little brown and white Sheltie fellow has insinuated himself int the hearts of all his friends at Nattering Springs. In a very short time, Monty's antics made him beloved by every one of us, here. Who else could have pulled off (with the help of his Dad), the Great International Mr. Broccoli Roundup or the I'm So Famous I Have My Own Book event.

Now Monty is ill. Please look upon him with kindness and care. Guide the veterinarians and technicians in wisdom and discernment. Ask the Good Shepherd to bestow His healing touch on this little guy. Bring comfort and strength to his Dad and all his family. Most of all, please bring Monty home soon. This we ask in His name,
Amen

As soon as I opened my eyes this morning I thought of Monty. The labored breathing really bothered me. At his age I can't believe it's heart disease, I think an infection, and I hope that is right because it should be easily treatable. Poor Monty and poor you - really pulling for you guys and the girls too. :fl :hugs

poor monty must be soo confused....
an oxyegn tent sound sacry without you there to tell him it's OK.
Hopefully soon Monty will be feeling better and will have all the vet techs wrapped around his little paw.

No one can resist a sweet and naughty Sheltie!
Gavin would use his cone to scrape off his wound covering so the vet tech would let him lay near her desk on a dog bed for closer monitoring :P
