Monty is coughing/choking almost none stop

Did you bring up the rabbit and time? Things like fur shed on Mr Broc or rabbit poo would seem like primary new things. Given there seems to be nothing else.... oh and rabbit dander would be airborne..... Though I agree a week seems long (it was 2 or 3 days when I ate seafood for me)

So...
“can't see him as he's in critical care and they need to keep it a sterile environment apparently.”

But they would not see you yesterday? What is wrong with this picture! Being irate is an understatement!

They are aware he won’t drink water, right? I would hate for him to get dehydrated. They will probably need to give him subQ fluids if he won’t drink enough.

Poor Monty!!! But glad he is getting the care he needs. Sorry for the stress you and yours must be feeling right now and the girls must be quite scared. Glad it is not his heart but do hope they get some idea as to what is affecting him. Thanks for the update!!!

Sheep - I mentioned the rabbit but the vet thinks he would have shown symptoms before now. The are still only "thinking" it's allergy so it may be something different yet, so frustrating.

Gloria - I'm beyond angry, I'm just trying to get little Monty fixed first before I explode at them. I don't want to upset them so they refuse to help him. I had to walk away for a little bit this morning when or I would have said/done something I regret. It took them minutes to diagnose he had fluid in his lungs, would it have really hurt their business to look at him before 24hrs :mad1:
I've mentioned he will still only drink a certain type of puppy milk and offered to bring it in but they are using an IV to give him fluids as he's too weak to eat/drink (probably from struggling to breathe for 24hrs!!!!!)

He's had some tough early years so I know he's a little fighter, he'll get through this and be home playing with his broccoli in no time

We're all here praying you're right and Monty is back with you tomorrow! The poor guy, of course he's weak from 24 hours of that. You're smart to hold your fire until you get him past this...not a good idea to tick them off while they're taking care of him. I give you massive credit for being able to grit your teeth and keep it in. Feel free to vent with us, Darren, we get it! They're lucky to be on the other side of the ocean! :mad1:

I think we are ALL upset at your vet! But you are right to not p**s them off if you have no alternative for his care at this point. Did they update you on him this afternoon? I wonder if they've put him on steroids (allergy)? I've been feeling restless all day thinking about poor Monty without his family or his Mr. B.
