New Puppy Coming Later In 2014 or 2015

Is it a bit obsessive that I've been thinking of a Registered and Call name for a puppy I may not even have for a year+?

No - no - no. Not obsessive at all! I decided just about 1 year ago that I wanted to get another Sheltie soon. About 6 months ago, I had cleared the decks of all of the necessary distractions so that whenever I find my new companion, I can give him all the time he deserves. In that 6 months, I have been knee deep with breeders with my list of specifics (and I am willing to give myself all the time necessary to get exactly what I want). I have had names (registered and call names) picked out for most of that time. So, NO, I don't see you as obsessive at all!!!! I will say this though. I fully understand that as in love as I am with the names I have picked out - they may all go out the window the minute I get to actually see him. A "William Robert" may look more like a "Billy Bob" when I actually get to see him for the 1st time! (And no, those are not my names for real )

when I was looking for a blue- when I ended up getting Jocu- I had boy and girl blue names all picked out- registered and call.
then I had to start thinking of tri/bi names when it became apparent that I wasn't getting a blue then....
and Jocu as a name was picked out before I got Cranberry but he had to be Cranberry:winkgrin:
and then when I did get a blue- I didn't use the previously picked names- Destin got to be all original:yes:

so no, not obsessive at all...............

Nope I have mine all picked out but I usually do that and then I see the pup and the name doesn't fit. I had no plans to name a puppy Birch until I look out the window of that autumn day he was born and saw the leaves falling off the trees.

I don't plan on getting a pup for several years(I say that but if the right pup comes along...) and I am already thinking.

The majority of the time I have 3 under 3 full time with me because my dad visits a lot with his girl :) it's chaos but we love it and wouldn't want it any other way :) so happy for you!

All these new puppies. I always have a list of names in my mind and usually I have more names for the opposite sex of what I am getting!!! ahhhh puppies, puppy smells, puppy breath and puppy enthusiasm.

Depending on our job situation/living situation we might be getting another in '15  I already have registered name and call name picked out... yeah, I'm that bad. Now let's cross fingers and hope my fiance gets a teaching job in PA and that would be the deciding factor to if I put myself on my breeder's list :biggrin2:
