Owning a Sheltie Means...

Owning a sheltie means my friend will never have perfect behavior when I'm arriving home, because I'm just to excited to be with her again to do anything other than give her great big hugs and beg for kisses!

Shelby's mom took my first thought- never going to the bathroom alone again.

Owning a sheltie (or 5) means I've accepted that someday, I will need a hearing aid.

Owning a sheltie means I will never get through a movie without having to pause it at least three times so they can protect the yard from evil squirrels.

Owning a sheltie means I will never sleep past 6:30, but will be allowed to go back to bed after the 6:30 potty break.

Owning a Sheltie means you'll never have to replace the batteries in your alarm clock... because your sheltie is your alarm clock!

Owning a sheltie means used old socks get to be the best tug toys ever.

Owning a sheltie means you go crazy hunting for Made in USA raw hides.

Owning a Sheltie, or 3, means smiles on the faces of everyone who sees them coming, old, young, men or women!

Owning a Sheltie means hearing "Oh, it's a little Lassie!" over and over and over! (Although Brooke being a bi-black throws them a little.)

Owning a Sheltie means taking those long kinky hairs with you on any trip, especially on fleece clothes! We have left Sheltie hairs in many countries!

Owning a Sheltie means bedlam when someone knocks on the front door!

LOL, this is cute, and so many of my ideas were taken. HeHe, but here goes again:

Owning a Sheltie means no more quietly sneaking away to go to the store.

Owning a Sheltie means no more peaceful nights, there is always a wrestling match occurring.

Owning a Sheltie means nothing is sacred in the bathroom.

Owning a Sheltie means having stock in Vacuum cleaner bags and hair removal paper.

Owning a Sheltie means I will never be able to answer the door without saying "Quiet" again.

But, the real reason for owning a Sheltie, it means tons of unconditional love and fun. Those sweet eyes are so worth it. LOL

My newest adventure:

Owning a sheltie means you look at every car to see if it's big enough to fit crates in the trunk area. :o

To take that even farther...you make important life decisions based on your dogs! (Car's cargo area, house's yard, vacations, hotels that allow dogs, etc.)

Buying a house that doesn't have a homeowner's association that won't let you build a fence. (Actually- we wanted to avoid one of those entirely, but the fence was a very big deal for us.)

Owning a Sheltie means-

Always sharing your string cheese.
Always having your Sheltie(s) within 5 feet of you.
Lots of arm workouts from all the tugging.
Getting motivated to get in shape to keep up with your Sheltie :dead:.
