Rabbit Run at the National!

This thread ---- photos, commentary, and all has been wonderful and you all are looking fabulous ! Thanks for taking us there with you, so to speak.

Brilliant! I am really enjoying hearing all the news and seeing the photos was great! I loved the dog topairy at the centre, how clever is that!!

The show rings don't look too different from here in the UK but I was interested to see the banks of cages and pens have been 'dressed', which we do not do here, although some people have towels with their kennel names on. It looks like a fantastic show venue.

Just wondering is it all confirmation or are there agility/obedience competitions as well?

Well done to everyone and looking forward to hearing more exciting updates:biggrin2:

Today's Report

It was an exciting day at the National today, with the Rabbit Run dogs looking fabulous but no placements. Noah and Linda showed bright and early this morning and both looked terrific! Linda did a great job and Noah showed like a pro in a very large Open class. I'm sure Linda will fill in more details later.

Later this morning, Tansy and Megan made their appearance in another very large class of Open Sable and White bitches. It was quite a nail-biter as the judge deliberated before her initial cut and Tansy was one of the finalists! We all held our breath as they went through the paces a second time with the other finalists and although the judge really seemed to like them, they weren't in the final four.

This afternoon, Winners' Dog and Winners' Bitch were chosen -- wonderful specimens of the breed -- and tomorrow will wrap up the week with Best of Breed after Juniors first thing in the morning. There are more than 160 champions here to compete in Best of Breed, with all the Sheltie names we see winning around the nation here, so it will be an exciting day.

Then, we all begin the breakdown and packing for the long trip home and back to real life. It's been a great week with lots of fantastic Shelties, good fun with friends and ... ummm, interesting weather.

Thanks to all of you who've taken this journey with us on the Forum! We so appreciate your support and messages. I've had a good time sharing my first National experience with my Forum family. I'm sure there will be more pictures coming once we all sort out and download. In the meantime, you can check all the results of the week at sheltiesonline.com .

On to the next show! :biggrin2:

Hello all! Noah did fabulous today and looked like a million bucks thanks to Megans skillful grooming and Connies Skillful trimming...left to me he would like ....well....less than a million:lol:
We started our day early today, well actually I got quite a rude wakeup call via Mother Nature starting at 2:30am with Thunder and Lightening...so I laid there until 5am...got up showered, picked up Megan and we were off to start the day! (good thing I can operate on little to no sleep!) We had a 8am ring time which meant no lolly gagging around! Megan was there ringside to make sure we always looked spot on. While we didnt place I feel Noah did a great job and we love him and will take him home anyway!
While I couldnt take pics, obviously, my mom did, looking at them quickly she did a passable job :wink2: I am in the middle of packing right now as we are under another Tornado watch, and im gettin the heck outta dogde! I will work on uploading pics tomorrow night when I get home and after I give a weeks worth of smooches to the ones left home...Ive missed them all!
But all in all it was a great week, sans the weather...and the location/venue is absolutely beautiful!!! Now to save up some money for shopping next year in FL!
