Rachael Ray's dogfood

We got some for Penny and Trevor and they both seem to love it. I read quite a few reviews that rave about it. Trevor eats his puppy food and also sneaks some of this food too! We also have Iams but we will never ever use Beneful again as its garbage food loaded with fillers. :(
 
I got a free sample of it, my dogs ate it ok, but I decided against feeding it because it is so full of grain fillers. I prefer to feed wheat and corn free and the RR had both of these ingredients.
 
It's full of grains. Both of them are.

I think the whole big hype with Rachel Ray and developing this "wholesome" dog food,well she does have this really cute dog called Isaboo.
And Rachel is a chef (not really,just a really good cook) She says so herself.

And the cute commercials with her & her dog,well who wouldn't just love that dog.. so the commercials are appealing. Maybe if her or her agents or developers had an idea about the differance between grains,and what is really better for any dog,they may rethink their selling tactics & marketing.

I personlly think that any dog food,that has all the pretty colors of green,orange,red..tidbits in it,has got to be dye's,and it cannot possibly be good for any dog.
 
Ok, this post has thrown me off course. Rachel Ray happens to be the name of Bacca's Mom!

I thought to myself...Wow! She's got her own dog food line now! Cool! :lol::lol:

I dont think grains are bad for dogs, but I believe it depends on the quality of the grains used in the foods. Some dogs can do just fine, i.e. all of mine growing up AND my Golden Retriever all on Science Diet. I think some dogs and cats may have allergies to them, while many don't. One of the posters here on the forum has a parent that has fed his dogs grocery store food and his dogs have lived longer than many of ours. It depends on many factors, but I dont believe grain is evil, hehe!
 
Megansmom may have been referring to my father, as I've mentioned this on different ocassions. He was feeding Lucy Beneful before I got here. He honestly thought it was good for her. But honestly, his dogs live long, healthy lives. He's never had one with cancer, diabetes, seizures or anything else. They just live until they're old and can't go on any longer. I don't know how to argue with that, but I continue to feed Meggie, and now Lucy, high quality food. They are on Wellness Whitefish and Sweet Potato now. They love it. I always augment with vegis too.

Ah, haha, you're right, I was totally referring to your Father! Megan is on Royal Canin and our cats are on a mixture of Wellness and Science Diet. The pets I grew up with never had any issues at all either. Like your fathers, they lived a long time, till they couldnt go any longer:wink2:
