Rachael Ray's dogfood

I wouldn't feed it to any of mine. Toward the top of the list of ingredients, you will find corn and soy, both of which are known to cause allergies pretty regularly in dogs, and corn is hard for dogs to digest.
Instead of meats, most of the top ingredients are grain. By and large, your dog is getting more grain than actual meat.

As others have said, grain isn't necessarily bad for dogs...it just shouldn't be at the top of the list of ingredients on your dog food label, and they must be "good" grains. The first ingredient should ALWAYS be meat, with grains further down. And it should NEVER be a meat "by-product", which is the canine equivalent of spare animal parts with no nutritional value.

It's so important to read the labels and not the ads or the testimonials...unfortunately our chow hounds will frequently devour junk food just like we love McDonald's! (Who wouldn't turn away those nice, greasy fries?!) That doesn't mean it's good for them, or what they should be eating.

As for Rachael Ray....has anyone ever seen her cook healthy? I rest my case.

They'll eat things worse than junk food, if you let them. (cf. "poopsicles" thread.) :dead: Gustatory discrimination isn't a strong suit for most dogs. It really is up to us to choose wisely on their behalf!
 
The problems here.

Iams Chunk Green bag : The first ingredient fantastic , The second Corn meal, Allergy and Not digestible by most just as with humans . I don't need to go into details right. :lol:
Iams Orange bag same thing First ingredient perfect then downhiull, Look Corn meal, Chicken by-products.
Third Rachel Ray Nutrish : Believe it or not the lesser of the three evils. The corn meal and corn gluten is what makes this less nutrious for the dogs.

We use California Natural with Bentley. It's a pretty good quality food (I think 3 or 4 stars? I can't remember). It's really good for dogs with sensitive stomachs. Our dog loves it and has done really well on it where other high quality foods gave him stomach problems. Our vet recommended it.
