Sadie, the Ongoing Story...

Sadie is acting like her old self again, but physically hasn't made it back to 100%. I've accepted that she may never get there and don't really care. I'm just glad that she's happy again.

For fun and to boost her confidence I've been doing obedience with her and she's doing reasonably well. My trainer feels that she may be able to do Rally some day, but at this point I feel it will be asking too much of her. She has difficulty sitting or standing for long periods of time and tires quickly. I've also cut back on the jogging we were doing.

Last obedience class Sadie seemed to be struggling more than usual and my trainer thought she looked still, which I agreed with. She suggested I take Sadie back to the rehab vet, that Sadie may need some therapy or an adjustment (The vet is also an animal chiropractor).

I took her to the appointment yesterday and the vet said that Sadie's sacrum was out, more than likely do to her compensating for her weak left hind leg.

Sadie received an adjustment, laser therapy, a run on the underwater treadmill and a quick swim in their therapy pool. I noticed a change in her immediately, she definitely seems to be moving MUCH better.

I signed up for 5 sessions so I'll be bringing her back monthly. It works out to roughly $50 per session, which I think is VERY reasonable.

That is VERY reasonable, Melissa. I just paid $120 today for an adjustment and acupuncture. This Lymes is costing me lots and lots of money.

Wow, that REALLY sucks! :eek2:

I had to pay for the 5 visit package all at once, which makes it a bit more difficult, but still!

Maybe you should consider moving up here.

I think that sounds very resonable and if it helps her that is the best thing to do. Sounds like she really responds well to the swimming. Sure would be nice if they did two for one!!

I am glad the therapy worked today. Your right she may never be 100 % strength wise but she is 100 % lovable that's for sure. Chandler tires quickly also and his one foot still knuckles under every few steps but for his age he has recovered pretty well. I am glad you had her young age on your side. Hoping she enjoys her other therapy sessions you are doing an amazing job with her.
