Sadie is suddenly paralyzed

That is a very good price. Ember's recheck adjustments are $20 and that is just for the adjustment, the first one was $40 and that is a bunch cheaper than the avg here which is about $70. Pike went in for the whole deal- laser ,underwater treadmill, adjustment with a back injury and it was around $100 per session.
 
Reading all the posts you have created stirs a great deal of emotion. I'm relieved that the outcome has been as good as it has been. Shelties seem to be so empathetic to their human partners it only seem reasonable that you must feel similar feelings in return. This must have been so trying for you and I hope you have held your pride in hanging in there.

Thanks, it certainly has been an emotional roller-coaster. I think that we were really lucky that Sadie has recovered as much as she has. It looks as though she's only going to require a chiropractic adjustment every few months. At this point it feels as if it was all a bad dream that we're trying to forget.
 
I am very sorry about Sadie....I understand the fear and sense of helplessness to do something to fix it now.....I will keep you and Sadie in my prayers.

As I read further, I see Sadie is making progress....I posted the top of this note when I read your initial post...a rush of emotion came over me..I am happy that she is recovering. I would have totally lost it....now I will read every post, so as not to make a fool of myself when writing responses...

Thanks, that's really sweet of you. I have trouble going back and reading this entire thread. It really was such a horrific thing to happen, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

Sadie is doing really great now, although she'll never be 100%. I'm just so grateful to still have my heart dog with me and the one good thing is that getting through this has brought us even closer together, if that's even possible. It really makes me treasure every small moment with her.
 
I took Sadie for another rehab appointment yesterday, which she REALLY enjoyed. I took a couple of videos so I could share with everyone what the underwater treadmill looks like and how well her back legs are working. I also took a short video of the indoor pool.

Sorry the colors in the video are a bit wonky. I forgot my camera so I used the work camera, which was in some weird color enhance setting that I didn't know how to quickly change. Oh well, looks kinda neat. :smile2:

Melissa, that was really neat! The underwater treadmill looked really tiring!

Just curious, did she just walk automatically? Or did you have to start by luring/rewarding her?

Aaawww… those videos are great! I especially enjoyed seeing how comfortable she seems to be in the water. I can only imagine how good it must feel for you to see her so mobile after the heartbreak of seeing her paralyzed. (((HUGS))) to Miss. Sadie… keep up the good work, girlie!!!
