Shaded sable with raccoon eyes

Thanks, I will post some new pictures as she gets older. Your sheltie Sally is a cute dog too! When I saw your Sally's pictures, I wondered if that's what my Sammi may look like when gets a little older.
I don't know about your sheltie, but mine sure loves to bark!

Welcome to you and Sammi to the Sheltie Nation.

Please feel free to introduce yourself in the Say Hello section.

I am from Jersey as well....out in Hunterdon County.

My Olive has similar markings, it will be interesting to see how they change as she ages (she's roughly 1 now). Since she was a stray we're not sure about her heritage- shelter said X but rescue says pure. DH's aunt insists she has BC in her, but I think she just has a flat-er puppy coat and is taking awhile to find her voice.

After being with us a little over two and a half weeks: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e22/Nueroticponygirl/Dog/P1050970.jpg

What a sweet, sweet face she has! And, she shares her name with my Olive, who I thought was the only dog on the planet named Olive! Excellent choice!:smile2:

What a sweet face...gentle eyes. Nice to meet you Olive.

Haha we wanted to name her Olivia (after a scifi character) but we have friends with a pap named Olivia so that would just get confusing.

Olive's sister was named Olivia, and their father was Ollie.... Olive, however, like her sister, is a tri, not the unusual coloring on your sweet baby. I just love her eyes!:smile2:

I love all the pictures on this thread! Such interesting color dogs! How much does Sammi weigh-he looks as big as a shepherd in some of the pics because it's hard to scale him. As for not knowing if he's pure, it's definitely a possibility. His fur looks a tad short-do you cut or shave it? Someone I knew paid $700 for a Pomeranian at a pet store and the dog now has a sheltie tail (it's long and hangs straight down), has a long muzzle, and weighs 35 pounds! They wanted a small dog...Woops.

Hi, Sammi is a female (my daughter named her!). She isn't as big as a shepherd, althought she is larger than most shelties. And yes, I took her to the groomer about 3 weeks ago and they also trimmed her fur. But, it looks like it might be starting to grow back in. I don't think, however, that she was as full as some other 6mo old sheltie pictures I have seen on line. I just figured she was going thru her awkward stage, but I'm not sure. Here are some more pictures to show her size better. She will curl up and can fit on our lap. She is about 25 lbs and is about 17 inches tall (it's hard to tell exactly because she doesn't keep still very long). She also barks A LOT, most times for no apparent reason! As a matter of fact, she is barking right now. And, she is VERY active, always wanting to play so much that we look for ways to tire her out! Sammi is also very loving and cuddly and will happily sit on our lap.
Here is another picture to maybe judge her size a bit better. The first picture is on my daughter's lap, so you can see how she fits. And the second picture is Sammi standing on our outdoor freezer and you can see her size compared to the window behind her. It's a regular size window. The second picture on the freezer is one I took today.
She is getting spayed next week, so I will ask the vet about her breed and what the vet thinks she looks like.

Hi, I just posted a response below with some very recent pictures. She isn't as big as some of my previous pictures make it look. Maybe about 22-25 lbs and about 17" tall. Let me know what you think, I'd be interested to know if anyone thinks she is mixed 1/2 with something else, or not. Maybe 1/4 something else? I'm really not sure. I have ordered pedigree papers and will let you know what they say when they come in the mail.

Humm, did Sammi have a sheltie ruff before the haircut ? Just has a different look from one picture to another, but at 6 mos. Sally had that awkward look too, and i wasn't sure about her being a sheltie b/c she was a rescue. I think the markings on their face give them more of a shepherd look and maybe that's some of it, and since you have her fur trimmed, that makes a difference too. Time will tell. She is adorable no matter what. I am clearly no help.:o:pop
