Sheltie Quirks

How can you resist those gorgeous faces, which just scream cuteness here !! They do know how to get their way don't they.

They sure do! I just cannot resist - Maia is the worst and she knows it. She puts her head down on the chair, the sofa, right beside my lap and just stares at you with those brown irresistible eyes. Resistance is futile!

Aztec gives me the exact same face...it started when he was begging for a blueberry muffin...so we call it the "muffin face". It is like they know how cute they are, and they have no shame in using it for their personal gain :smile2:.

They succeed every time!

They are adorable. I know I can't resist those looks. They know they own us!

Awww! I loved reading all of these! So many of our puppers have the same quirks. Too cute! :D

Here are some of Madi's:

1. She buries her tennis balls under the couch. We never taught her, she just does it. She grabs her ball, heads over to the couch, sets the ball down, grabs the couch skirt with her teeth and lifts it up, then while holding the skirt up she pushes the ball underneath with her paw.

She's got like 15 tennis balls in the house. We'll pull them out from under the couch and give them all to her. In less than 10 minutes she'll have them all buried again and be barking at you to pull them back out again. And of course we do :wink2:

2. Whenever she sees someone with towels in their hand she runs for her kennel

3. She chases dust particles she sees in the sunlight and tries to eat them.

4. After she potties she does "victory laps" around the yard

5. She loves to lay in bed with us, but she HATES it if we cover our faces! She'll dig and dig till she gets the covers off and then gives us a gazillion kisses. It's like she thought we'd be gone forever. AWWW!!

I can so relate to this one! Barkley and Pixie will lay side by side on the couch when I'm eating something and put both their heads right next to each other on my leg with those pleading eyes boring holes into me. Impossible! The Guilt! How can you NOT feed them?!

We are all so owned by our dogs....:rolleyes2:

When I come home from work, Ellie can't manage to just wag her tail--she seems to be hinged in half ! Her entire body wags! LOL! And then she does the strangest thing: she jumps--not ON me (she knows that is a "no-no") she jumps near me--straight up and down like a Jack Russell! She never touches me. Just looks like she is on a pogo stick. I am not sure how to correct this, because she is not jumping on me and it is the ultimate expresison of joy!

She seems to have really lousy depth perception. She wants to get on the couch, but she's so little that she has to jump up on the ottoman first to get up on the couch. She takes a running start at the ottoman and then leaps too soon and actually hits her chest on the ottoman. When we help her up onto the couch she lays quietly cuddled up next to me for literally about 2 minutes and then moves and then moves again and then moves again, too restless to stay up there. She then wants down and goes over to her living room bed and goes out like a light. I noticed that when we were at the breeder's house, her dad did exactly the same thing, however.

If I am in one room and DH is in another, she will pick a place to lay that is almost exactly half-way between us. That way she can keep an eye on both of us and track our moves. It is exacty what my dear ol' Jazz doggie used to do.

The thing that is most endearing to me about Ellie is her how much she loves two different things. She LOVES to be whispered to! I can be holding her and she will be wiggling and squirming, but if I whisper to her, she goes COMPLETELY still. She is mesmorized! She will also go completely still if I repeatedly kiss her on the side of her muzzle. It is the cutest thing EVER!

I could go on and on, because she does so many incredibly cute things!!

Oh, those eyes! I luckily have not ever given Darcy any human food ever but he is still young. :rolleyes2: I try not to promote human food b/c of Darcy's very large brother Mylo..He weighs as much as I do 105 lbs and I don't want to be mowed down for food

Angy's quirks

Angy is a crazy boy! If I take a bath he seems to think the tub is going to eat me, so he tries to climb in with me, all the time barking, growling and trying to bite the water. Also, he thinks that anything I eat he should have, and he will jump up on the couch beside me and sit perfectly still and just stare at me like he's trying to use mind control to get me to give him a bite. And I don't know why, but he regularly "patrols" the perimeter of my living/dining room around and around, behind the couch, behind my recliner, around the dining table. over and over again until he is satisfied that nothing unseemly is happening. Also, he chases his tail all the time and he also lets out a gigantic sigh just before he goes to sleep. You know, we all love the furbabies, or the would drives us bonkers!!

Angy's quirks 2

Oh, I forgot, Angy just loves it when my youngest daughter sings to him. He likes classical music and celtic music a lot, but his favorite song is actually 'Edelweiss' from The Sound of Music. Jennie sings it to him as a 'lullaby' to get him to calm down when he gets all wound up, and he just melts!
