Sheltie Rescue Picnic - NJ

I feel terrible, but I just cancelled on Melissa for staying over here this weekend. My kids have been sick all week, and I just don't want to have her over and spread around the germs. Plus....I am beat

Don't worry about it, these things happen. I'll talk to Dale and see if we can manage staying in a motel, if anyone knows of one that is clean and reasonably priced that accepts pets.

I'm not sure if you can find one close, but try Red Roof Inn. You can go to their website. They are clean, up to date, and you can have your dogs. The rate is usually $39.00-$42.00 depending on the location.

Also, sometimes Best Westerns have good rates...and La Quinta is a bit pricier, maybe $60?

I found one that is about 20 minutes from the park, has a good rep and is decently priced.

If Danielle doesn't know of anything better that isn't listed online I'll probably book with them. They're really the only option, everything else is too far away.

Oh no! I hope your kids feel better in time for the picnic!

That sounds great!

I couldn't get the materials for Bailey's costume. I have to order it, so it won't be here in time. I should've thought of it sooner  So, Bailey probably won't be in costume. Unless I can improvise and find something else...

Well...depending on how everything pans out, I may have a costume for Bailey. I am getting Chloe x-rayed tomorrow, so depending on what the vet says, I may not be taking her. So, she can where Chloe's costume. I have two tan sheep and one brown sheep and my kids (if they feel up to it) are going to be shephards walking the sheep.

I will keep you up to date.

Costume for Bailey - sheep dog! If you have shepherds and sheep, you need a sheep dog.

I'm not sure now whether we'll be able to make it. It seems as though we're not meant to go.

Ginny is VERY sick today. I thought she ate something that upset her tummy but she's been getting increasingly sick. By 12am last night she'd stopped eating and drinking and was vomiting bile. I gave her gravol to sooth her tummy but this morning when we got up we discovered she'd had explosive diarrhea in her crate. What a mess and the poor little thing looked so ashamed. She still refuses to eat or drink and is quite listless.

My grandmother is going to take her to the vet this afternoon. Hopefully they'll just give her some metronidizole into her and she'll be back to her old self by Saturday.

To top all this off my 3 year old washing machine broke down so I don't have anything to clean up the mess with. :dead:

That is really funny because the substitute costume I was looking at was this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290478822363&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I'm trying to find one in Manhattan, so I will have it in time
