Your picture of smudge in his bed brought tears to my eyes, poor little trooper.
Did the vet suggest any vitamins or supplements for him. My understanding of mange is it is similar in some ways to the human candida bactieria in that it lives on us all the time but can overpopulate when someone has a compromised immune system, taken antobiotics etc. A boost to his immune system might help him recover quicker.
See how he is in a few days, but he may still want to go to obedience in a week. Deska was pretty bad after his op but still wanted to get about - so I took him out but without walking much (eg, like sitting at the park or the shop). He did hurt his shoulder while on the pain meds too because it made him a little fearless so keep an eye on smudge.

I was able to manage to get off of work 2 1/2 hours early tonight. Sadly, that will not be the case for the rest of the week. I got about 1 1/2 of sleep last night. Smudge scared me so bad. I got up to check on him, and he was alseep. I petted him and kept saying his name to get him to wake up. Nothing. So I started shaking him. Nothing. I started yelling, begging him to wake up. He finally heard me and opened his sleepy eyes. That scared me so bad. 
It gave me horrible flashbacks of Gizmo, only Gizmo never woke back up.
Mom said Smudge slept last night without a peep. He went to the bathroom before I left, and he went to the bathroom when I got home. He's still very woozy. He's walking around some, but I'm not sure that's a good idea just yet. He'll pick a toy up and kind of just stare into space and then he eventually drops it and walks off. He'll walk into a room and just stand. That's not like Smudge at all. I'm hoping it's just the medicine from yesterday.
He will start getting pain medicine at 7:45 am for the next five days. I bought some peanut butter to maybe make it easier. Smudge has not had anything to drink since yesterday morning at around 7:00. I've offered him water, and he refuses. He eats fine, but refuses water. I hope he drinks something soon.
His eye looks a lot better since the vet fixed him up. He will go in again in two weeks for more treatment. Ever since he came back from the vet's office he has been shedding like crazy. This was not what I was expecting at all! I thought I would walk into the vet, she'd hand Smudge something for allergies, and that would be the end of it. I was not given any supplements, but I am going to buy that Chinese herb/supplement thing that was suggested. The worst that could happen would be that it wouldn't do anything.

Just thought I would pop in here,and send get well thoughts to Smudge.He certainly has been thru an ordeal.The anesthesia,that was givin to him,for the surgery,does and will make him be out of sorts for a few days. I know Earnhardt spent the better part of 2 days dozing in his crate.He came home the same day a the surgery.Females,a bit differant,as that is major surgery.We just made sure he had plenty of fresh water,did not press the issue to eat.I'm sure with a few days,you will see a big differance.

It would be good if Smudge had something to drink. You don't want him to get dehydrated. Try dissolving a chicken or beef boillion cube in boiling water and then mix just a bit of that into some regular cold water. Sometimes that will entice them. Also, you can mix water with his food to get some liquid into him.
I wouldn't be too worried about his sleepiness. As others have said, it can take a few days for the anesthesia to get out of his system. It takes 72 hours to get out of ours when we have it! It actually could be a good thing he's sleepy...once he's awake, you'll have your hands full keeping him quiet!
Smudge is a tough little guy, and he'll come through this. We'll be thinking of him, and watching for your updates.

Drinking something would be better than not drinking anything.I will help flush his system quicker.The drowsiness is better for him,as said by Ann,its better he remain calmer.In a few days you will or should see a world of differance in how he acts.Maybe try gaterade,or pedialye,just some mixed in some of his kibble.They often will go for something sweet.I know one time,our vet gave Jewel,(female rescue) a bit of honey on a teaspoon,she was not eating well after a surgery,nor not drinking well.I always have a tube of nutrical here,which is loaded with high nutriants,for sick or recouperating pups.

Bless you and your pup. I've got my fingers crossed for a speedy recovery! Smudge is such a sweet soul, you can tell from the pics. It is very hard for us pet-parents because they can't talk to us and tell us how they feel and what they need, but I think you are doing a great job. Keep it up!
Got a little bit of sleep and then got back up. I took him outside to go to the bathroom, and he started chasing the neighbor's cat!
