So many new folks!

I am a computer geek that makes things for the gov. In my off time I spoil Mr Scathan Coimhead and ride/race motorcycles (new leathers are somewhere between here and Kentucky right now) I also mess with computer stuff off work including embedded electronics. I have been known to roam far and wide. And Sca has now been in 8 states with me so has earned some roaming points also :biggrin2:
 
I'm Julia, I live also in the east of England, a bit further down from Sophie in the beautiful county of Kent. We are in fact closer to France than London and I can sometimes see it accross the sea on a clear day!

I have always been an 'animal ' person, before the dogs I kept rabbits which I bred and showed, I still do a little breeding with them. I've had all sorts but my first and last love are Himalayan Netherland Dwarfs. I've got eight at the moment, all descendents from my dear Quest.

The shelties as you will see are Revel and Yogi, with Merlin who lives down the road with my auntie and who is responsible for me choosing this wonderful breed as he is so perfect!!

Revel and I have done masses of things together, from confirmation breed showing to obedience. Yogi is more confirmation but also does some obedience displays.

I hopefully have a new sheltie puppy 'in the pipeline'.

I'm Amanda and I live in Southern California. I was born and raised in San Diego but moved an hour north a year ago when I bought my first house. I am a biomedical engineer, and I work with a company that focuses on womens health equipment. I spent 6 years in the US Navy, and did 4 deployments. By the time I got out, I had about 6 months of school left, and got my degree in electrical engineering. I'm still in my 20's, but I'm definitely closer to 30. :sadsmile: I love to travel, and my best friends and I plan one trip a year to various places in the world. This year was Ireland, next year is Alaska.

I have one sheltie, his name is Gibbs (named after everyones famous NCIS agent:wink2:), he turned 6 months old yesterday! He's a big boy, already about 19lbs, and 16". He's not my first dog, but he's my first sheltie. I fell in love with them at a local fair that had a booth with the San Diego Sheltie club. I am absolutely in love with the breed, even though Gibbs is a "Rotten Little Monster" as I affectionally call him. I am definitely already wanting another one, so if anyone knows any breeders with blue merle puppies, let me know! I also have 2 cats, 2 kittens, and 1 horse.

I would love to get into herding with Gibbs, and I don't think he will ever be able to do agility. He injured his shoulder when he was about 8 weeks old jumping out of a play pen when he was still with his breeder. My vet can't seem to find anything wrong, but he has a slight hitch in his step every once in a while, and won't jump on or off anything.

I'm Chris, who lives in Northern Virginia and works in Washington D.C. When I'm not commuting, I dote on Layla, Bits, Annie Laurie and Beckon. I found this site fairly shortly after it come into exiatence, and now I can't live without it! My work has kept me too busy to post as often as I like to, but most of the old guard will tell you I'm the resident smart-aleck! :biggrin2:

I'm John, a 50 year old 'come from away'. Originally from Ontario, I've been on the east coast of Canada for the past 22 years. I'm an architectural technician.

April is my sweetheart, and a gentle little girl she is, as beautiful a spirit as her album pictures infer.

Chelsea was my first sheltie, and will have been gone from me for 5 years this Nov 20. She was a tomboy, a terror, a riot, a worry, an explorer, a...you get the idea. Life with her wasn't dull.

Well my gosh..Gibbs just screams "happiness".he is to cute for words!!
 
Well here goes, try not to get too bored. I was born in Medford, New York...my father was transfered to St. Louis and we moved when I was 4 years old. When I was 18 I joined the Army and when I was 19 I was blinded by a mortar explosion in Viet Nam. I came home and sat around for about 2 years and then decided to give college a try. I attended Northwestern University in Illinois and graduated with my degree in psychology..After that I worked for the Veterans Admin. trying to help guys who came back from the war with mind problems and spending my weekends at the Childrens Hospital working with the handicapped children. When I got Boo, he would go every weekend with me and play with the kids. I had 7 operations trying to restore my sight and nothing worked until a month and a half ago when they tried a new procedure on me and after 40 years I got 90% of my vison back. Wow, how the world has changed and I get to drive wearing glasses....and now I live with Boo, 4 mini schnauzers ( I adopted from my sister) Katy, Harley, Sara, & Tea'...and also my kitten..Travis. And that's the end of that story :0)
 
Love this thread, learning about my forum friends.

I was born and raised just northeast of Toronto in Ontario. Interesting fact - I attended a one-room school for grade 1 and there were only three of us in the grade. When I was 19, my parents and I moved to northern Alberta and lived there for five years, returning to Barrie Ontario (north of Toronto) in 1983. In 2000, we moved to the Niagara Peninsula area of Toronto so that they could be closer to their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

I work as a Medical Office Assistant to a general surgeon and also do transcription at home for a Plastic Surgeon. I have spent most of my working life in the medical field as a secretary. I always said I would never be a secretary and sit at a desk all day. And as you know, I am also primary caregiver to my 84-year-old father, who is not in good health.

This would keep me busy, but as you know, I have two Shelties - Emma that I got in November 2009 and now Liam, almost three weeks ago. I have had Shelties in the past - Hamish that I rescued from my sister (long story there) in 1992 and then Noah, who I go in 2000 after I lost Hamish. I would not want to be without my furbabies as they bring so much to my life.
 
I am a native Floridian.... used to work in retail for 15 years and then worked in a ENT office for 5 years then got this crazy idea to clean houses!!! I am not as busy as I would like to be right now but doing this job has allowed me to be home with the dogs which I enjoy more than any thing.
I also enjoy gardening and some days can get a bit cranky if I don't get outside. But with age I see I can't do that all day like I used too...so I sit and adore Maggie and Zak and wish for # three.
 
I'm a Yooper (native of Michigan's Upper Peninsula). I was born and raised here and I love living here. the area is beautiful and the people are great, although the winters can sometimes be brutal. I own and operate a business that was started by my father and I also work at night cleaning Drs offices. I guess you could say I'm a working fool. LOL

I have had Shelties for over thirty years along with Cocker Spaniels, a Poodle mix and a Golden Retriever along the way. Fergus, my little tri guy, I adopted three years ago as a three month old pup from a breeder. Baxter my big boy I adopted last year through Wisconsin Sheltie Rescue.
