Thundershirts

I logged in at 4:10 p.m. and she is definitely anxious about something. She's circling in her crate and doing the yawn/snap thing with her mouth - which to be is often a sign of anxiety/stress.

If it is the kids at home, then that would explain it, but would suggest that the Thundershirt is not working?????

The streaming is very cool. Have her streamed her before the shirt? Did she sleep during the day or was agitated all day as well?

Now staring at a Sheltie butt parked in front of the camera.

I did not realize that you've got two pups crated and one loose to roam around. Could this be contributing to her stress? Because she is pacing again....but maybe she also knows you're coming home soon....

I watched the video clip, and to me all 3 pups are extemely well behaved.I see no signs of being stressed in the one dog with the shirt on.Very relaxed, and content.

The dog in the middle crate,to me is exhibiting nothing to me that suggests anything other than she heard a noise, and is reacting just as any dog would. I do think you have found something that is totally doing its job with thr ThunderShirts.

I am pleased they are working.

As far as 2 dogs being crated, and one allowed free roam,I don't ever see signs of being anxious from Jasper. Both of the pups sleep in our room. There is a soft side crate for Trapp, with the door open. Jaspers crate is closed. And I will tell ya,he could care less that Trapp is able to come & go.

He has full vision of Trapp, whether he be on the bed,or laying in his crate.Trapp is the pacer, one who worries. But once its bedtime, these guys are content to be nested in.

Ginny was hearing kids outside, plus its close to the time my husband came home so she was getting excited. Other than that she slept for the whole day (I've been spying on her for a couple of weeks), which to me is a big success. She's usually up and pacing around all through the day.

Sadie was sleeping for most of the day too but she definitely could have been contributing to the stress near the end of the day. As it turns out, Sadie has a UTI and peed on the floor some time between 4:30-5:30.

Received Baron's Thundershirt in the mail today. I'm very pleased with the size we chose (m). I was a little worried ;-). Gotta say he looks pretty silly in it with all his hair poofed out and then so compacted under the shirt..LOL..but hey..if it works!! We'll see? With New Year's tomorrow night which always brings fireworks (although illegal!)...that should be a good test.

How does Baron like his Thundershirt?

Well...he seems kinda taken back by it. When I first put it on him, he just stood in the middle of the room for a prolonged period of time as if he didn't know what to do (lol). He quickly has learned he isn't "frozen" with it on ;-). He seems comfortable with it now, but is definitely more laid back and relaxed. He's a window barker to the max, and I keep waiting for that to happen...but it hasn't ;-)...yet??? Time will tell. I really don't know if there's a difference between how he acts with his car harness on, or his T.S. on. I will say it is more comfortable for him to wear..and easier to put on..that's for sure ;-).

How is Ginny doing with her's now?

I think Ginny is doing very well with it. I put it on her before I crate her and she now sleeps for the majority of the day. She still gets anxious around 3-4 PM when she hears kids outside coming home from school and its getting close to when my dh comes home, but that's still a big improvement. I'm looking forward to trying it on her during a loud thunderstorm or fireworks.

Toby is MUCH calmer with his on. He's hyper and tends to pace and be on alert without it. With it on he stretches out, lies on the furniture and cuddles with me. Last night he relaxed and didn't react to any noises, even though my dh was using a drill, hammer AND dremel. That would have sent him over the edge before.

Awesome..Awesome to both of you.I am glad it is working for your dogs.I know it has been an amazing transformation with Mia.

She loves wearing it.As a matter of fact this morning,Brian helped me with her,as I wanted to do her nails and paw fur.I did'nt have it on at the time, and she was nearly climbing the wall in desperation to get away from being contained in one spot.

Well I went and got her TS,and put it on.She sat quietly after, with little anxiety.Brian fed her tidbits of a treat, while I whizzed thru her pedicure~
