After reading these posts, I now more than pretty sure that I'm going to order one of these for my Ashlee boy. He gets so frightened about any noises he hears, and we live in an apartment complex, and I'm afraid that if his barking doesn't get any better, that we're going to get complaints... I'm not sure of what size to get him though, since he's pretty small, right now he's about 17.5 pounds, and I got him a seat belt harness a couple weeks ago and at its tightest, he's able to wiggle his way out of it.

If you go on the official Thundershirt web site there is a measurement chart. You'll probably want a size medium. I have a size small for my 14 lb. sheltie and it just fits her. The medium will be a bit big but he'll grow into it.

If you do want to wait till he gets older, you can always use a snug fitting dog t-shirt or child's t-shirt

Thanks for the feedback, I did already order his this morning. I don't think Ash is going to get that much bigger, he's pretty much the runt of his litter and when I looked up the sizing thing on there, I saw that the small one was probably the best fit for him. I ended up getting Cody one too, I got him a medium sized one based off of his weight too. Even if Ash does outgrow it, I wouldn't mind getting him another one if it works

They can be tightened or loosened to fit the dog as well so hopefully even if he does get bigger a medium can grow with him.
