That really does sound like progress. Keep posting the good news.
I was looking back at my posts from a year ago, and found a post saying Tully finally went up to sniff another dog and sat next to a ridgeback. Doesnt sound like much but I was very excited at the time - it was a big step. People who meet Tully now hardly believe she was that shy, and now its easy for me to forget just how much progress we have made. Thats why its nice to look back on earlier posts to remember. At one point I didnt think we would ever progress.
Keep going. One day soon you will look back on this period with pride on what a great job you have done.
My JRT mix Jazz was a rescue and very shy with men. I took a beginner obedience class with her and the instructor couldn't get near her for 4 weeks. He would just come by and cookies would fall from the sky. She really started liking him because everytime he showed up cookies appeared. I applied the same to all people. Like Tully, my friends who didn't know her when she was young refused to believe she was once shy. She turned into the dog who would see a person 50 ft away and want to go see them because they might have food but it took a while to get to this point.
Sounds like Apollo is making progress, keep it up.
