Update...*sigh*
I thought I would post an update here. The dogs were crated after their naughty behavior (see beginning of this thread) and we made it a point to walk them in the morning and the afternoon since we were feeling guilty about crating them all day.
At the beginning of the month we decided to allow them out of the crates during the day again. We try to take them for walks in the morning, but it has been really rainy so it hasn't gotten done every morning, though they still get a walk when we get home and plenty of exercise/play/learning in the evenings.
They were doing really well, and I was very happy. We just make it a point to put EVERYTHING away when we are gone.
Well yesterday we got home from work, they got their walk, and we had to run out to the store (we were gone for maybe 30 minutes?) During that time, Lexi chewed the corner of the wall. I was furious. I guess she was upset that we left and didn't give her anything to do (I give them both a frozen Kong in the mornings).
We are renting this house, and now have so many repairs to do.
I am not comfortable leaving them in their crates for 8-9 hours during the day, don't know anyone who can come let them out, but can't afford to keep finding things that they've ruined. I'm thinking of buying a second x-pen and hooking them together, but that's not a ton of room.
She is 2 years old. I guess she is never going to get over this habit?
