I always wanted to call a male Rowan. The rowan tree, here it's called the mountain ash, is what you would take a branch from before crossing a fairie mound. It would protect you from them stealing you and taking you down to be their servant. Had Tinsel been sable it would have been his name but he's a blue merle and he came at Christmas hence his name.
Whatever you call him, he is already giving his special brand of peace to Richard - something Rhi did for Peter, my sister-in-law's father, so you get to see the amount of heart this young dog has. Congrats on finding him and giving him the security of a forever home.
