Well why does he have to have his manhood removed anyway??? I am told they like to pee on your stuff more (mark their territory) but dogs do that anyway and can be trained to stop and that they are more aggressive. (my puppy is the most non aggressive dog I have ever seen).
Maybe he wants to keep them.. I know I want to keep mine!!!. lol... I heard there is more risk of certain cancers (testicular i assume) ... but there are risks with any surgery as well.
For someone who is very concerned with the longevity of their dog, you should definitely neuter him. My friend had a male dog and at 13 years old, he died of testicular cancer. The vet said if he was neutered, he never would've gotten this cancer. He was too old and it was too late to neuter to him at that point. Also, the majority of dog's hit by cars are male dogs trying to find a female dog in heat.

And yes there are always risks with surgery. However, I strongly believe the benefits outweigh the risks with spaying and neutering. This is a very common procedure. Unless your dog is a show dog and being breed, there is no reason to not neuter him. IMO he will be an easier, happier and healthier dog throughout his lifetime.
But of course, you and your vet need to decide what you think is best for your puppy. I don't want to persuade you and then something happens and I'll feel guilty. Do what you think is best
