Which side of the bed?

Neither of my dogs sleep in my bed.

I am allergic to both of them, so if they sleep in my bed I get puffy eyes and feel miserable. So they are content on the floor.

When I am sick...since I feel miserable anyways...I do let them sleep in my bed. He likes to sleep right next to me with his head on the pillow. :rolleyes2: Laika likes to sleep at the foot of my bed.
 
Wyatt usually sleeps at the foot of the bed or he sleeps in a Sheltie ball with his back touching the small of my back! I suppose he's protecting me!
 
When 4 of my gang slept with me, since I slept on the left side of the bed, they took the rest of the bed. Recently I started sleeping more toward the middle of the bed, and poor Maizie gets so confused. She will try and piush me off of her spot. Rocky is the only one who can jump up onto my bed and he ihappy to be anywhere, but Fox MUST sleep as close to me as possible, I have been woken up by Fox letting Maizie know shew is too close. I guess he does that because he is my Service Dog.

I may have only had Lyra(3monthsold) for 3 night now, but she does sleep in my bed since the rescue allowed her and she stays in the bed all night without accident. When she sleeps, even her naps on the floor, she wiggles around the entire time..just slightly shifting around. On the bed, she wiggles and moves and backs up or flips over until she's flush against me. Why she doesn't begin this way is beyond me..but that's how she likes to be in the morning.
I'm not with my husband right now because our apartment doesn't allow dogs, so it'll be interesting where she lays when there are two adults. I'm not sure he'll enjoy the morning head romp as much as I do. He's not a morning person.
 
I SWORE that I would not let the pups sleep on the bed with me, but when it no longer became necessary to crate them at night, it just turned out that way. They were both at a year old when I finally caved.

Bacca sleeps on the inside, sharing my pillow with me. :rolleyes2: Indy normally sleeps at my feet (because Bacca won't let him come closer). By morning, I'm usually found clutching the side of the bed, trying not to fall out! As the night progresses, Bacca seems to grow to about 6 feet tall! :biggrin2: I've a queen size bed, and it makes no difference!

When David comes over on the weekends, or we're up at the cottage, the boys know that the bed is off-limits (I think they are thinking about filing an SUBU complaint about this, btw....I heard them muttering about how unfair it was, just this weekend) :lol:
 
SIDE OF THE BED - you mean that some dogs don't just lie in the middle of the bed and let you squash over to one side. Sheesh, I'll have to explain this to Tully! lol
 
Alan has the right side of the bed, I have the left side.....Sasha sleeps between us at the head of the bed, Figaro in the middle, and Emma at the foot of the bed. Newton sleeps in his crate, Angus in his Xpen, and Indy on his orthopedic doggie bed. Sometimes Newton asks to get out in the wee hours of the morning, and then he joins us in the bed...wedging himself into the curve of my neck and moving Sasha to Alan's shoulder or down between my shoulderblades. Sometimes Emma shakes things up a bit and moves Figaro off the bed or tries to sleep across my feet. I don't like things on my feet.
 
I used to sleep on the right side of the bed, now I sleep on the left as it is much easier with my two but this all depends who gets into bed first - me or them! If them, then I take whichever side has more room (and this may be a matter of two inches or so! AND they will not move over for me even if I nudge them!!!). Once in bed, Maia, will sleep most of the night curled right up against my stomach/back, and then she will come by my head, wake me up and have me hold the covers up so she can get underneath, where she settles again right against me, with her head on my pillow or arm. Chinook, if he choses to sleep on the bed, it is usually at the foot of the bed.

IS it NOT the best to be cuddling with a Sheltie??
Or most of you with SEVERAL?! *envious look*

I am with Barb, I seriously thought this Sheltie would NOT sleep in bed with me... I held out about 8 months!

I used to have a Boxer AND a German Shepherd sleep in a bed with me and my Husband. Even a King size bed did not help, and hubby had only 6 inches of the bed, lol Plus the Boxer was a sleeping in between my legs kinda dog... lol BUT I found I could NOT resist the Sheltie closeness and hair lol! Plus, he's SO much easier to sleep with than the 'big oafs' I used to have ;)
 
My 2 pups sleep in their own beds. Well, really Callie doesn't even sleep in her bed most of the time- she prefers the tile floor or the doorway.
