Why should people join the Sheltie Forums?

I joined because I adore Shelties and wanted like-minded contacts. What I wound up with are people I genuinely love. The Nation is so creative -- remember the great Canadian Party Trek a couple of years ago? I mean, it was DAYS of hilarity! And since I love to laugh, this is a perfect place to be!
 
I would have to mirror what everyone has already said. I guess my own spin on it would also include:

Members begging to see photos of you kids.. that don't happen in the real world.
There is no other place i know where you can get the support you need, if it be from the loss of a furkid to hearing of wonderful rescue stories to what should i feed my puppy and why is his poop so runny, can you look at this picture and tell what is wrong to omg what is up with the barking to should i glue his ears all the way to how to trim a poop shoot when you see dingle-berries.

I too refer to Nation to my family and friends as "my sheltie forum" and they do humor me but what i realize when i am constantly "quoting" what i read or what is going on with someone i realize just how much this forum means to me and how much i depend on it everyday even if i don't post everyday. So I too, thank Kelly, and her beloved inspiration Trevor for creating such a lovely place.

p.s. I'm going to Jamaica February 5th.....but don't tell the boys.....we're keeping it secret until the babysitter arrives! And I will have my black panties under lock!

me too- sounds exactly why I joined. I needed more sheltie info than I had and this was definitely the place to get it :yes:
 
The board is full of info, from poop chutes to behavior.

What I love is the action that is taken behind the scenes, there isn't trolls.

I seen a very nice board go down sometime ago because of those little stinkers, and financially I think they had a hard time keeping the board up.

I know Kelly you put a lot of cash out of your own pocket to support this board, and as I have said $25 a year is a drop in the bucket for all you do.
Hopefully when the economy returns, more posters can donate, its been tough going for so many. May 2011 bring all good things.

I am happy for the moderators babysitting and keeping us straight.

Its great to read about shelties, since there isn't very many around in my area. The board has really grown in the short time I have been here, hard to keep up. I try to read the bulk of the statements even if I don't post on every comment, like Barb. :lol: Hope you know I am needling a little.

I love what many knowledgeable people have brought to the board. I sigh when I read about the diseases, and illness. Through others sadness, we have learned so much. Some of this stuff I have never heard of. Call me a work in progress learning some of those words, I sound like a drunk pronouncing them.

I've joined this thread a bit late, so everyone has said all the many things about the Forum that has made it so worthwhile for me to have joined. Thanks to the Mods and Admin for all they do to keep this wonderful Forum going. It is a big close and understanding Family that we can rely on and turn to for help, reassurnce or fun. As a Lurker the Forum helped me through the dark times following the loss of Jess, that pushed me to join - thank you all.

A serious thread this one.... OK, but I bet everyone chuckled over Everett's cookies...

Hi I just joined this forum because I own 2 shelties, and figure that this is the place to get answers to any problems I may have. I have read a great deal of the posts and will try some of them.

I joined because it's the only place I can come and talk endlessly about shelties without getting strange looks :eek2: or eyes rolled at me :rolleyes2:
