Worst thing you ever caught in your Sheltie's mouth?

2) Silliest thing....Coming home from work and finding Bacca in the backyward, flat out, staring at the sky. I call to get him inside and he's weaving and wobbling all over. I think poison! Rush him to emergency. Stomach is pumped. Turns out my Bacca has a thing for marijuana and got into my son's stash. It turns out Bacca could be a drug dog sniffer, because he smell it anywhere! Only problem, is that he keeps "eating the evidence"!

Oh Lord, Barb, I remember that!!!!! Let's see...
Layla: The dining room chair. Stuffing all over, bottom ripped out, thank God DH was out of town! I got it repaired before he found out. :rolleyes2:
Bits: One of DH's antihistimine capsules. Poor thing was totally stoned for six hours. :rolleyes2:
Annie Laurie: Broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, carrots, apples, beans, everything but celery.
Beckon: His black pearl pendant. Never did find that one, but then, I wasn't too keen about rifling through his poop.

Of course there is the pizza that Deska stole earlier in the year - walk straight into someone elses home and nicked off with it. Since then he still goes up to all the front doors we go past to check if he can get inside - he has managed a couple of time, luckily the home owners had a sense of humour!

That's unreal!

Callie - sigh - is a poop eater :(
also has tried to make off with any bread that she can get her teeth near. shortly after she came home, I came in with groceries- I'd put one load on the couch and make trips to get the rest and then put everything away. Happy never bothered anything. Callie found the bag with my sandwich rolls and was taking it off for a feast. so now, stuff gets put away and then I go for the next batch. she also once when I was leaving a cookout- I was the hamburger bun provider- we did not eat all of them so I was walking to the table to put the leftovers with some other stuff- she about took the bag of rolls out of my hand- silly girl.

Cranberry- managed his little puppy days to keep him from chewing the laptop cord- we learned from Sca :wink2: but not long ago, he did chew the internet cable. and my slippers- he always wants my slippers- I have to put them up when not wearing them.

Dixie is a shoe dog- chewed the end of one of my laces in the bedrooom. then one evening, she's on the floor by my feet- instead of laying by me on the couch- and I look down and she's chewing the shoes that I'm wearing :eek2:
she oughtta at least let me take them off first

One of our dogs lifted something about 2ins x 2 ins, like a pebble. I just asked him to come to me so I could see what it was, so he swallowed it. Worried all night about it getting stuck in the stomach. I should not of worried. It was a dead mouse, vomited it up next day and cost me an arm and a leg with drugs to make him better.

1: MOST Disgusting... Underwear is one of the things, used diapers and sanitary napkins are another...

The diapers and sanitary napkins just get torn to shreds all over the house, but one day, I hear Skipper gagging next to me. I check, and I see he has something in his mouth, and he's choking on it. I run over and start pulling it out. I thought it was just a tiny peice of fabric he chewed up and was trying to swallow. Oh no... He had tried to ingest the entire pair of underwear.... He was OK, and we didn't have any problems after that (other than chewing them up).

2: Scariest... My parents have a tri that is about a year older than Skipper. Skipper and Mercedes (that's her name) both have a thing with gorging themselves on food, and forgetting to chew before swallowing. One day, in my high school years, my dad decided he wanted some cheese and crackers, so he had a block of cheddar cheese and a package of crackers. He left the room for a moment, and when he came back, Mercedes was laying on the floor, gasping for air. The block of cheese was gone, and she had plenty of opportunity to get it, so we know what was causing the problem. While my dad is trying to do the heimlich maneuver on her, Mom was trying to coax her to cough it up. Her eyes started to roll in the back of her head when (at a last ditch-effort) Mom plunged her fingers down Mercedes's throat and pulled out the block of cheese. Mercedes survived with a couple of broken ribs, but her appetite is still her downfall.

3: Most impressive to my husband and his guy friends... When they catch the squirrels and put themselves on the barf diet...

Paper clip, rubber band (at agility trials), $45 VS bras, underwear, tampon (my male vomited one up.... now how he got one, I don't know),various pieces of shredded trash, shoestrings, ipod headphones (twice!), shoes, usb cords, laptop charger, books, course maps, an entire bush), another dogs bag of treats (at the last agility trial. oops).
Oh, mine have done the wall many times! Once, one had gotten locked in the bathroom, and when I came back and found him, he had eaten a big hole in the wall.
When I was a kid, my first sheltie had a thing for play doh and crayons. You'd always know when he'd been into them because his poop would be rainbow colored.
Let's see.... Athena attempted live fish last time I went along fishing with my boyfriend. He got a bit upset, and I told him well, he had always wanted someone to come with him who was as enthusiastic about fishing as he was, and he got his wish. Athena loves fishing. She'll bark and chase the line as it's cast, bark at it if it moves in the water where a fish has grabbed it, will try to go in after the line, runs the shore line as it's reeled in, and tries to steal the fish off the line when it's brought out of the water.

In the three months we have had Roscoe he has eaten quite a bit. A short list off the top of my head...

Clothing (he always chooses my stuff too):
3 pairs of flipflops
numerous socks
two bras
Shoelaces on my shoes
chewed on but caught before he did much to my work tennis shoes

Other stuff:
My 2 year old QH fillies owner transfer papers (luckily I am friends with previous owners and she has a sense of humpor and ordered and sent new ones)
paper of any form
power cord for the laptop
doggy sweatshirt that Gracie the rat terrier was wearing
pine pellet bedding from the rabbit cage
rabbit poop cat poop dog poop horse poop... poop in general
ace bandage

Earlier he had the kittens head in his mouth playing lion tamer apparantly

I had to really think about this one with Miko since he hasn't been a puppy in a long time.....and rarely eats things he isn't supposed to. However, Koji on the other hand..well read on.

Miko:
-wall corners and baseboards
-his cardboard barrier (well, chewed not eaten)
-tp (chewed)
-my car registration (chewed only and found all of it but a teeny tiny piece, I was impressed)
-the heels on my shoes
All of the above was about 1 year old and younger
-and most recently (a year ago or so) a Clif bar (kinda freaked out as it was chocolate so we kept an eye on him). Just took it out of the bag, ate threw the wrapper and went to town

Koji:
-he had/has a fetish for my expensive SmartWool apparel. I was NOT happy when I'd find one sock missing, my scarf torn to shreds, my beanie with a hole in it. ugh. And the sock thing scared us to death because we didn't know WHEN he ate it. Emergency trip to the vet. We waited and he pooped out my green sock. Fun. He threw another one up. And one more, we waited and it passed.
-he was a poop eater (my mistake for pulling it out of his mouth once, gross!!)
-a back scratcher
-half my sandwich in two bites (sucker is fast! Stole it off my plate. Also stole it off the counter once - my fault).
-my Dad's bloody kleenex (he gets bloody noses a lot)
-dirty q-tips, kleenex, anything out of trash can (we have caught him before he eats it)
-he tries to pick up anything he sees on the ground. feather, lint, bug, leaf, poop, etc. yuck.

While I think we've beat Bacca's drug habit, I still have a problem with anything plastic with Indy.

My deck "had" (notice past tense) these plastic pegs to hold up awnings. They were screwed into the deck. These plastic pegs were chewed up and spit out by Indy. They now sit "mangled" in my office awaiting a decision as to what to do next....

Silly boys

My sister's lab chews up, swallows, and passes any plastic.

Now, I am catching Liam with just about anything that falls in his mouth - spool of thread, tube of lipstick, you name it, he'll find it and chew it.

Emma is good now - she rarely chews anything. Liam is the chewer of the two.
