    Oh No

She was so sad it was hard to be angry with her. It already seems more humorous then it did last night. Unless you're combing through Kasey's fur its not easy to notice.

    Oh No

When my seven year old daughter walked up to me this evening, with Kasey trailing along behind her like usual, I could tell that something wasn't quite right. In response to my question she mumbled "I had gum and it fell out on Kasey" I stared at her uncomprehendingly for a minute. You...

How to keep a sheltie off the furniture?

With 2 little girls actually picking the puppy up and putting her on the couch we were lost before we even started. I don't really mind though. I love it when she jumps up and snuggles next to me when we're watching a movie or reading on the couch. Its about the only time I'm sure she's...

    Moonshine passed

I'm so very sorry to hear about Moonshine. You're in our thoughts and prayers.

I don't think I will have a night of sleep again.

If I forget to pull the bedroom door shut until it latches Kasey noses her way in to wake up my husband in the morning. He is not in favor of 30 pounds of furriness landing on his chest but I have to agree with your wife, its hilarious.

    Extremely Shy Puppy

I bought Kasey's collar at Petco but they called it something different (which of course I can't remember for sure) - a half check collar maybe? Looks just like the pictures of a martingale though. It is adjustable but the nylon part is a bit thick. It would make a mess of her ruff if she...

    My Sheltie has osteosarcoma

So sorry to hear about Honey. My sister and her husband went through something very similar with their golden retriever, Alley. I know it was a choice they wrestled with but in the end they decided on the amputation. I know for them it turned out to be the right choice. Alley may not have...

    Does your sheltie talk?

Kasey has just started doing this! Only when she's really excited or greeting someone she hasn't seen in a while.

Why did you get a Sheltie?

My daughter had been waging a quiet but persistent campaign for a dog for a couple of years. Every book she brought home from the school library had a dog on the cover. Every time we were in the car she pointed out people with dogs. It wasn't that we didn't like dogs or want a dog but my...

    Greetings from Minnesota

Thanks for the warm welcome! We had Kasey spade this week so things have been a little chaotic. She doesn't seem to been in pain (running and chasing the cat) but she must not be comfortable either because she just doesn't settle, she's been pacing around and whining.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the book recommendations. A few pictures: This is Kasey when we first brought her home - she adopted the corner in the dining room as her spot: http://www.flickr.com/photos/41781701@N02/3851693689/in/set-72157622129215952/ What a difference a few...

    Greetings from Minnesota

I've been checking out your lovely forum for a while now. What a wonderful resource! We brought Kasey (6 mo old female sheltie) into our family in May, first sheltie, first dog. Its been quite an adventure but I think training is going well, she has trained us to close the closet doors, pick...
