What random things does your sheltie bark at?

haha this is great to see all the stuff being barked at. I'll add that if we go even remotely near the dust buster Levi loses it, and immediately tries to bite it as soon as it's removed from the charger. He growls at the dogs on TV, and the wind, but really doesn't bark at them unless provoked.

What random things does your sheltie bark at?

I was reading the de-barking thread, and I thought this would be a fun topic. I'll start: Levi (3 yr old Bi-Blue) - He barks at: Bags (when they are higher than him, like on a table) Floral Print The garbage truck You (If you change your clothing without him knowing, and then he see's you...

    Pack Leader

Ok, so I recently began reading stuff about dog behaviors and I'm a little confused by my situation. We have a (almost 3) Bi-Blue boy. My parents have a 8yr old Tri boy, and a 1yr old blue merle boy. Little background is that the bi-blue lives with me, but goes to my parents house every day...

Could someone clarify about double merle?

Our boy (Levi) His mother is a double merle. She was fortunate enough to have been born with no genetic defects such as blindness or deafness, and has become a very decorated agility star. I'm not sure how they got a double merle, but I do notice slight differences between our boy Levi's coat...

    Sheltie's with Human Personality?

Hi All, I'm just wondering if there are more shelties out there like my boy Levi. He has such a human personality, for example: If DW and I are chatting it up in bed, and he is trying to sleep at the bottom of the bed, he will turn his head and give us a dirty look, shortly before departing to...

Thanks! I actually posted a thread with pictures in the "new member" section. I look forward to posting more here, I'm pretty sure I'll agree with almost all of the other hard lines people take here as I too am strong on food quality, teeth cleaning, and a whole bunch of other topics that could...

When did you first learn what agility was?

I always knew what it was from a young age. I kind of regret not doing it with my boy Levi, especially since his mom and sister are both very good at it and hold multiple titles.

    Mine vs. Yours

Haha this made me chuckle... our boy isn't picky, he sleeps on whichever side is unoccupied (assuming the bed is made and symmetrical lol)

I must be an enigma, 5 out of 5 I've had wouldn't chase a squirrel. I still can't believe the number of shelties that have such strong instincts that they require a physical barrier. Hopefully this can explain my attitude towards the subject. I already know Levi would never take off, but I'll...

    NO fence discussion

I'm sorry but none of these hold any water to the argument that you "must" have a fence. Every scenario listed here could have happened weather anyone has a fence or not. Breeders should have fences, with so many pups running around along with a mommy and a daddy or two, that would be a lot of...

It's fine with being comfortable in any situation listed in the thread, I can understand where those have lost, or know someone who lost and they want to take every measure feasibly possible to prevent such an event from happening. I can see where some rescue's would require a fenced in yard if...
