My mother just picked up a bottle from Trader Joe's for me. I'll get it on Sunday. Can't wait to try it for myself and for Bailey.

I'm gonna start off very slow with Bailey because when I increased her fish oil, she had an awful stomach ache.
 
I bought mine about a week and a half ago from Trader Joe's. I have to say, the jar they have there is plenty big and will last forever.

I love the smell of it--but it doesn't taste so good (for humans, haha!)

The dogs eat it up, but that's not a surprise since they literally eat everything. I started for the first day or two just adding a little bit, but then got kind of lazy and upped it and they both did fine--no issues.

I haven't seen any results yet, but I'm going to keep at it. Seems like a good, natural addition. (I use this in conjunction with joint supplements, and fish oil).
 
I use it for me and like Ashley don't care much for the taste, I do scramble my egg with it. I much prefer it in a candy bar. LOL
I have been giving to Maggie and Zak, and I still use the salmon oil. I think they will get benefits from both.
 
What dosage is everyone giving their dogs? From what I read online it seems like it should be a 1/2 teaspoon a day for every 10 pounds (or 1/4 teaspoon twice a day.)

I've been feeding Bailey fish oil in the morning and coconut oil at night. She is getting about 1/2 teaspoon once a day.

And I've been take a teaspoon 2x a day. Not enjoying the flavor!
 
I'm also giving salmon oil in the a.m. and the coconut oil at night. Mine are up to 1 teaspoon of coconut oil and I think I'm going to hold them there.

Does anyone else find their coconut oil is the consistency of crisco? I have to scrape it out of the jar every night and then work it off the spoon! The jar says it solidifies at temps under 76 degrees....think I'm going to start putting it in the microwave to soften it.

Yep! I usually use a butter knife and just scrape it off onto the side of the bowl. The dogs just lick it off. (I give mine about a teaspoon too)
 
My coconut oil is watery, but the consistency changing depending on how warm my house is. I have to mix it before taking it.

My mother has the same brand and hers is definitely thicker, so I guess it depends on the temperature of where it is stored.

I tried putting mine in the refrigerator, but it made it too waxy.
 
Mine's almost always like clear oil! That's probably because it's never cold enough here. I did notice that when I poured cold water from my glass over the spoon I used to mix the oils, whatever was left of the spoon turned cloudy and hard.

Mine is harder than Crisco, more like cold butter. Difficult to scrape up. I started putting the jar on the stove top (gas stove with pilots). I will look for a more liquid version when this jar is empty.

If you live in a cold weather climate, there is no more liquid version. It all turns solid under 75 degrees. I keep mine in a glass jar now (the plastic one melted!) and put it in the microwave on low for one minute.
