In the path of hurricane Irene:Owners, dogs, your location

We are fine here in SC. Only got shorts bands of rain & wind, but nothing like we thought we would get.

I have been keeping track as best I could.Last night I talked with Dawn a few times, and the worst of this had not got to her yet. I hope her night was good, and not to bad. I hope she checks in soon.

I am so worried about NJ/NY folks. I pray they are ok. Thank you everyone for checking in,and giving us your updates.

Nary a branch down at Nattering Springs! Beginning to get patches of blue sky -- time to walk the Shelties!! We're loving the cool!!

Glad to hear from all who've reported safe harbor.

All safe here. Winds were up to 75mph at times still having some gusts but rain has stopped for now. I was one of the lucky ones and had no power loss. Gypsy is glad it is over. Praying you all stay safe up North. News just said winds are still gusting up to 50 mph.

All good here. We didn't even lose power. I'm glad I evacuated to my bf's house at the top of a hill. No flooding issues at his house, but lots of flooding every where else. I heard they cut off power to my apartment this morning, so no idea when I should go home.

Bailey was pretty good overnight. She refused to potty in the rain and at one point even pulled me back inside. I guess she sensed the storm was coming. Me and Bailey must have slept through the worst of the storm. I woke up and it was only drizzling and a little wind, so I quickly rushed her out to go potty.

10:22 AM - We are good! We were up all night running pumps to keep the water out of the basement. Lost power twice, but it came right back on. The rivers by us are all over flowing. The worst for us will be later today, when the rivers crest. It is windy here, but not too bad. I am heading down to my "stream" right now to see how my pond and stream are doing.

So far so good here. The worst of the rain seems to be over, but the wind is really starting to pick up here, as the center is entering the state. No power loss (yet), but there are some big trees and branches down. One tree is leaning on the building next to us and we've been hit by some huge branches falling. Fingers crossed that the tree they belong to stays put!

Riley is doing fine so far. We snuck out during a lull for a pee, but he refuses to poop. He's a very wet, windblown, cranky sheltie right now!!

We're OK here too! I cannot believe we still have power (I hope I don't jinx it...) It's pouring and blowing here but it appears the end of the rain is in sight. There are still wind warnings, so we're hoping to hold onto the power. So far there are 500,000 people out in Connecticut and we've measured 8 inches of rain in our gage, much of which we've been vacuming out of the basement.

Dogs are fine and wet...they've been out for very brief trips and weren't happy about it but grudgingly gave us puddles. :biggrin2:

Our town is screwed. They declared a state of emergency. The Solitude Dam in Clinton looks like it is about to break. We are up high.....so we are OK, but all the people lower than us are being evacuated. My sister is there and she is evacuated and is heading over here. So scary.
