Is there a "Sheltie" collar?

You have probably heard of Greyhound collars, made specially for the Greyhound neck. Is there a Sheltie collar made for the Sheltie neck? Either the collar is too lose and its slipping because of the fur or its too tight getting caught in the fur choking them. Sometimes I wish I could just shave their necks, but then they would look a little funny. If their isn't already one out there can someone create one? :p

I use a Martingale style collar and don't have any issues with it on my little boy's neck. I have no issues with it getting caught in the fur or causing choking. Martingales are no choke collars that tighten only enough to prevent the dog from slipping the collar.

I use a Martingale, too. If you have a puppy, you can get a cheap one at Petco or Petsmart. We have talked about collars before, and I purchased one for my 4 month old sheltie. He has been using it for about 5 months and I love it. I had used regular choke chains on my previous shelties, and didn't know any better until I joined the forum. Martingales seem to be the best to me.

Oh! Oh! Oh! Yes, yes the martingale! Shall I share my photos again of my custom made collars!

No, I think not....but please do a search on martingales on the forum.

as everyone has said definitly the martingale collar which is really what a greyhound collar is, only they use the wide ones for greyhounds where most people use the thin ones for shelties.

BarbV calm down, it was just a question. Maybe next time I'll keep it to myself. Thank you for all the people who answered my questions, don't think I ever saw them at Petsmart, I'll look em' up and see what I can find.

Huh???? I find your comment somewhat rude, but excuse you because you may not know the history of why I posted my flip remark. However, I know you've been around this forum long enough to have seen my posts already on this site on collars. What do you mean about "keep it to yourself" next time? I certainly did not intend any disrepect and can't imagine how you took it as such.

But, I guess you missed all the threads where I've been flouting the Leases By Design martingale and boring everyone else to tears about it. I love these collars and everytime someone asks a question about collars, I can't help but pipe up about them again! So I was actually laughing at myself in my post to your thread.
