I just read this article, and feel a strong need to get the word out. This sickens and infuriates me. His poor dog, the terror he must have felt. Please read all articles on the page.

Sorry I haven't been around, but I look at the SN pics everyday. Please, please forward this article if you are so inclined. But be prepared to be sickened and upset.

My favorite part is how, when asked about it in an interview, Mitt goes into robot-mode and, with a big smile, says the dog "Just loved it in there!" and would jump up into the crate on the top of the station wagon any chance he got.

*shudder* How hard is it to say, "Man, I was young and stupid. I shouldn't have done that, and I'm sorry I did"?

That's the same thing I said to my friends. Why couldn't he just man up and say "It was a long time ago. I wasn't thinking and am ashamed of what I did?" Just admit you were wrong! Instead, he says "the dog liked it." I'm pretty sure the dog didn't like 60mph winds in his crate and laying in his own diarrhea. Disgusting.

here's the article I read:

Read the article he built him a windshield. Not saying it was a good idea and he sounds a bit like a control freak with the comment to kids also. But no 60 MPH wind.

EDIT: further you have to realize the press loves to crucify politicians and half truths are not beyond them. For instance how far from the folks did they discover the dog had issues? It might have made sense to continue rather than wet the dog down if the remainder is short. The story states 11 hours which sticks with anyone reading it that the poor setter was up there in his filth for half a day. The reality is that it was unlikely that it happened with in the first hour.

Oh and for those wondering I despise him and will not vote for him but that is no reason to stand by and let liars rule the day, as that happens at all of our expense.

I really doubt his homemade windblocker was secure enough to prevent any wind from penetrating the crate.

And you're right, who really knows how long the dog was up there before it defecated, but either way it is still animal abuse and inhumane to strap your dog's crate to the roof of your car for a 12 hour trip.

And the fact is he's no denying any of the allegations...at least I haven't ready anything.

I like how he claims in the interview that the crate was "air-tight"... :eek2: ... then how did the dog breathe and how did the poop come out?

LIAR!!!!!!

I see now the first link does contain some half truths and omits details. It doesn't matter, it is still sickening. With each new article posted here, it only confirms the story.

I wish I could do more. I have posted the original story on three pet food sites. I posted it on my Facebook page. I contacted three local news agencies, and plan to follow up with the additional articles.
