Mitt Romney and his dog abuse

Sadly Barb it is true.They have him on video talking about .Personally, I don't care to keep hearing the media talk about it over and over.It is like a broken record.Like everybody in office is all pure and lily white.I don't like what he did but it happened along time ago.

I'm rather shocked by this kind of apathy. Since when does it happening a long time ago make it any better? I'm confused. Please explain to me how a time frame has anything to do with it whatsoever? The point is at one time in his life, he cared so little about his animal that he acted in this way and people like that don't just change. Regardless if it happened yesterday or 20 years ago, it still happened and he has no remorse about it. It shows he lacks empathy and compassion... not the kind of person you want running your country.

First of all, I'm not a Romney supporter. That said, I do believe that people can grow and change. There is a huge difference between someone who harmed an animal because of an error in judgement 20 years ago and someone who derives pleasure from causing pain to an animal.

Firstly, This isn't about supporting him for president or not, it's not a political debate. It's a discussion how a man (who happens to be hoping to run for president) and how he treated his dog.

An error in judgment? Really? He hasn't shown any remorse at all about it...therefor it's not something he did a long time ago and learned from it. He clearly lacks empathy for animals and that's a sign of a psychopath if you ask me. Dogs are family members. Would you tie your child to the roof of a car and travel? You really can tell a lot about someone based on how they treat animals...I'm shocked to see someone on a dog forum lack such empathy...

Cases like this really get to me... just like seeing people riding w/their dog in the back of the truck...I'd be ranting about that also if someone famous or whatnot had openly admitted to doing that. The most sickening part to me is his lack of remorse and the fact he tried to make excuses for the situation.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood your comment "not the kind of person you want running your country". To me that sounds like a comment on one's fitness for office and therefore, a political statement.

What if I were to say something like this, "I believe President Obama uses the family pet, BO, as a prop. I never see him taking time to train BO, so he must not be concerned about BO developing the social skills that I think are important for a dog to be a family member. If President Obama doesn't think education is important for the family dog, I don't think I can trust him with running the education system for the nation's children."

I'm taking a very limited observation about an absent behavior and drawing a conclusion that simply may not be valid. To me, that is what you're doing with Romney. I think your passion for humane treatment of animals, which by the way I share, may be blindingyou to other ways of looking at this situation. That's all.

Give me a break!!!What does something from 20 years ago have to do with today/How do you know he hasn't changed?I do not care for him .It is "OLD NEWS"that the media keeps repeating over and over again.

Changed? Regardless of if he's "changed" it doesn't make up for the fact he did it. I'm honestly sickened by these responses and have nothing left to say.
