Question regarding Abby....

can't check my shelties now- not until after work. can't say that I've ever noticed any one area being hotter than any other.

Probably cause many people, like me, are at work right now. Don't worry you will get more responses tonight.

I will check Kyara when I get home but just by memory, I have only felt hot spots during agility training or the day after. I'll let you know how it feels tonight.

not to mention- just because your post was viewed doesn't mean it was viewed by people who can post. Many guests view threads but since they are not logged into the forums, they can't reply to the thread.

Same here. I've never noticed it before, but I'll check tonight when I get home.

I think that Sharon's idea of using the ball to rehab her is a good one (she mentioned Debbie Gross Saunders who owns a company called Wizard of Paws), but I think first I'd go to a specialist to be sure it isn't something more serious...then you can begin rehab and strengthening.

Who are you using for a chiro? There is Bud Allen and Angela-Greko Erikson who comes highly recommended by us agility folks. She is up your way. Also have you thought about Debbie Gross Saunders?

Sharon - I will look into Bud Allen & Angela-Greko Erikson.

I have used Frontier Medicine. Like them, don't love them. Hard to get an appointment w/o a scheduled appointment.
Today we are going to see Emily Elliot @ Chippens Hill Vet. in Bristol.

We have used Debbie...she does not do chiro. She does execellent rehab work and core strength. Our problem goes beyond her capabilities i feel. We were seeing her twice a week with no noticable difference. Felt it was time to move on.

Sorry - I was just frustrated and in disbelief...but understand now.

Cheryl - We have been to vets, orthopedic specialists & Tuft's all say the same. Normal. That's why i'm seeking advice and temps today. We go to get chiropractic adjustments once a month but I feel its just a band-aid to the underlying issue.

Oh man. That's rough. I have no other advice for you. So, hugs to you and Abby and I hope you find out what is going on.

No worries! Just wanted to reassure you that answers are coming.

I really have no medical expertise but am wondering if there might be any link between her ear infections and the warmth... fever tensing her up?

Just brainstorming ideas here, I really have no clue as to what it could be but I sure hope it isn't anything serious and it gets better. I am sending you some positive thoughts and will post later about what I feel on Kyara's back.

Thats what im thinking...any stressor on the immune system will affect different areas and an overactive immune system will trigger inflammation within the body in different areas....

I just did a quick test on mine...although not sure how accurate it is since they just came in from running...but some are cool and others have a slightly warmer area on their withers.....so im thinking its each dog is unique?

As for the warm spot.....core temperatures vary greatly from extremity temperatures. I would not get too worried UNLESS it is also associated with swelling or pain to touch.

Good luck with your girl!
