Going to an emergency vet is like going to an emergency physician. Neither know the patient or the patient history. Tests do need to be run which I am not sure why they would not have run them on Sadie that night, perhaps because it was after hours? and some testing cannot be done after hours, only during the normal business day. Medications cannot be prescribed for either dog or human without knowing the history and without knowing what is wrong with the patient. X-Rays will typically show bone damage and some soft tissue damage. Ultrasound would show soft tissue damage. Blood tests would help determine if something else was going on but they do not always show anything, depending on the problem. This also may be why no testing was done.
Call the vets in the area and ask if Sadie does have problems, what their policy is for seeing her and what their hours are. Quite often in an area where there is no emergency vet, there will be a vet who does on call. The humane society in the area may well be able to give you this information.
Hope she is feeling much better this morning.
