Sketch video...moving well :)

I am so overjoyed to hear the meds are finally having the desired result and you can breath a huge sigh of relief!! Blessing to you and your family this Thanksgiving!!! Virtual hugs from me and the boys!!!
 
Sketchie update...and once again I thank all of you for your continued support of our brave 3 legged boy.

Sketch is doing super well...barely any visible sign of infection left! Hopefully by the end of this week there will be zero visible infection and we can then start on the 2 weeks post visible infection treatment. So, if all continues to go as well as it is now...in 3 weeks we will be "home free". :smile2: Sketch will be VERY happy not to have to have daily medicated baths anymore...although he has been a real trooper and accepted with gentle tail wags all the treatments he has had to endure.

My only sadness is that "home free" won't ever mean he will be whole again with 4 legs. But Sketch is taking it all in stride and enjoying life, so I need to take my cue from him and learn to be as accepting as he is of what has happened. I am just so thankful he is alive and has the possibility to live out a full lifespan.

Wonderful news, Trini! Continued thoughts and prayers for Sketch's healing. I'll bet before long, he won't even realize he has only three legs. :hugs

Sketch probably not thinking that he only has three legs :no: he just wants to be a lovely happy dog in your wonderful family :hugs
 
Happy to hear about Sketch's progress. The others are right--for him this is the new normal. Our pups live in the present, and Sketch is one of the bravest!
 
I'm so glad Sketch is doing better and the infection is almost cleared up. I know there are another few weeks of medication but, given how tough MRSA is to beat this is fantastic!

You do need to take a cue from Sketch. He's showing you his new normal IS normal. :yes: I can imagine the mental games in your head given what you've gone through with the diagnosis and amputation. If there is ANY thought that you could have done more or acted sooner, please try to put those away and bury them deep. You did, and continue to do, what is best for Sketch and his recovery shows it.

THIS is what is important to remember. Sketch is happy and getting healthier by the day. He's an amazing dog with an equally amazing family.
 
Ann, Hanne, Ashley and Sheri,

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Sketch IS a happy boy in his new normal and most of the time I am able to accept and focus on that. But once in a while (usually when I am tired and my emotional guard is down) my human "take" on all this sets in and I have to remind myself that although it is natural to grieve what Sketch has been through, to him it is past and forgotten and he is OK with life just as it is right now...as long as good treats, games of fetch and lots of loving are in the recipe. :smile2:

I was thinking about Sketchie today and wanted to know if his infection was offically gone yet. Been keeping my fingers crossed!:fl
