This Guy Pulls At My Heart Strings...

Home Visit Has Been Scheduled

A lady from the sheltie rescue is coming to visit us with her sheltie on Sunday. I'm so excited to meet her and have her meet my DH and sheltie girls.

She commented that the visit is probably just a formality since we already have shelties, which made me feel really good.

I'm just starting to doubt myself about our home set up. Is there anything I'm overlooking that might be bad for a sheltie?

I don't think there is. We HAVE been slowly renovating our house so have to be careful not to leave anything out that might be harmful, but we always keep a close eye on our pack and none of them are allowed to be unattended.

As for outside, we have a fully fenced yard and the fence is between 5-7 feet on all sides. We put gates on our front porch also, so the dogs can hang out on the porch without the risk of getting out.

The girls are trained to go in a certain corner of the yard and we'd train Toby to do the same. The corner has been a bit smelly and gross (its just dirt right now), despite us picking up poop immediately, so we're going to grade the area and put down pea gravel before the home visit to improve the area.

Does any of this sound concerning? Is there anything else I should be worrying about?

I wonder if she is the same one who did mine for Emma - she is a friend of Emma's breeder. If it is, she is a real nice lady.

It could be, but my understanding is there are two people who do screening in the Niagara area. The name of the lady who will be visiting us is Judith and yes, she was very nice. :smile2:

I can't wait to hear about it from you! Waiting is not my strong suit, either! I know all will be fine. Sit back and open your heart and all will be well! :smile2:
