in a 1/2 hour we are taking Belle to the vet for her surgery.. I feel like a heel because I know what is coming and she is unaware.. and the difference between a dog and a human is so obvious.. she went without her breakfast and big drink of water this morning, but unlike a human that might be moaning and complaining, she is lying under my desk with her head on my foot..

I'm going to put her thundershirt on her for the car ride to the mall and the walk to the vet from there. She has really bonded with me over the past week or so, since we started the rescue remedy in her water, and I sure hope that this surgery doesn't set her back..

I am also hoping that they give her a sedative before they put her on the operating table and insert the IV..
 
off to a good start. she wore her thundershirt and didn't get sick in the car on the way to the mall.. I walked her the rest of the way and she was comfortable enough to pee on the grass beside the sidewalk.

They are going to sedate her before the IV and I am glad of that. Right now Belle is in a large cage with a mat and blanket on the floor. She was lying down and looking calm when I left. Her surgery should be around 11:30 PST and they will be phoning me afterwards to let me know how it went.
