last night we had an issue.. I must have been sleeping soundly because I didn't hear her pushing at the cone like I usually do, anyway, awoke to a chewing sound and saw Belle had pushed the cone off. I had tied the gauze quite tight so I don't know how she did it. anyway, the cone was lying in front of her and she was chewing on the gauze the vet had used for a tie. I turned on the TV and it was 2:00 am.. so here I was, half asleep trying to tie what was now too short, and worrying that she had eaten some of it. and Belle was trying to pull away because she didn't want that cone back on.. so I spoke firmly to her "come here" and then gave up trying to tie the gauze, went and found some cloth ribbon and some scissors, cut a long piece and tied the cone back on.. of course, then I felt like a heel for speaking firmly to her, thinking I had undone all the bonding over the past 3 months. It was a long time before we both got back to sleep. she kept sitting up, and lying down.. anyway, finally we did get back to sleep until husband woke me up at 7:00 for her meds.
Her walk was better. a little faster than last night, and she did her business normally and quickly, thank goodness because it was still raining.
and she didn't touch her stitches, they look to be healing.
hoping for an eventless sleep tonight.
