What Breed To Get???

I think he said he didn't want to do prof grooming, but I can't recall. Because he was talking about one breed that required it and he didn't seem to happy about it. I think we're looking for "low maintenance". LOL I keep telling him Shelties are, but he's always hear they were barkers.

I have no idea what he's talking about. Shelties are barkers. Sheesh. :razz: :rolleyes2:

Here's the issue with that. He did look at a Brittany. But there's one specific color he likes (it's the rare hard to find one). I believe all the breeders are back East and he refuses to fly a dog and buy one sight unseen.

I always tell him, with as much travel as he does, what a flight or two out there to check out a breeder/dog and then bring it home? LOL
 
English cocker spaniel? still some grooming...

Is he dead set on a purebred? because I see lots of lab mixes that still look typey but are smaller...

No more stubborn than a Sheltie... :lol::lol::lol: Personality plus. And yes, they do come in different sizes and don't require a lot of grooming. Who didn't love Uno??
 
I'd have to go with lab mix.
The shelter where I got Happy listed him as a lab mix- mostly because he was a black dog. My main qualification at that time was under 40 lbs. I checked a bunch of places and narrowed choices down by size. I almost got a sheltie mix then but the shelter people said there was another person interested in adopting that dog and not too many interested in Happy.

it sure sounds like the couple needs to decide together the major qualities that they want the dog to have.

They are so cute the papillion's with silky hair, easy as can be to train. OR a mutt terrier like Bridey!!!!

Note about photo: No dogs were injured, just my two girls talking to each other and they do it every night! Kind of look like gremlins who got into the water after midnight, doncha think? Can't let Fred be the only scary doggie in the window!!

I have a feeling he is, but I think it's more about knowing what he'll get, versus not. I'll have to ask him about that. Good question.
