Hi - sorry, I did bring him to the vet. She wasnt too alarmed by it. Called it a hystiocytoma. Exactly what Justicemom said. He has been licking it though and the vet did say it looked infected so she put him on cephalexin for 7 days.
I tried to put a bootie on it so he wouldnt lick it but...
Hi:
here is a link - its not the best picture (camera phone) but it looks like a corn or swollen blister. It doesnt bother him at all and I just noticed it this morning. Not sure how he got it or where but he doesnt lick at it or really pay any attention to it so I wont go to the emergency vet...
Normally yes, he's always right by me. Dexter really does torment him almost all of the time - I guess he loves Bailey ! Ever since dex came into the picture he's always been nuts with his *big brother*. Check him out when he was ~ 12weeks old http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfTc-6lPhKc
I'm actually past due for a vet visit - just got a reminder today in the mail about his physical, DHLPP and heartworm so I'll be bringing him in this upcoming week
Hi
I've been noticing that my 8yr old sheltie (Bailey) likes to be by himself. Nowadays I will be in one room with my 9 month old (Dexter) and Bailey is away - usually in the basement. Even when I call him, he just wants to stay down there by himself.
?
normal
?
Does anyone else's do that? Dexter will drink and drink and drink his water - especially ice cold water. he loves that. and then a few seconds later - throws it up - just water. No matter if its ice cold water he drank or room temp.
Another sheltie I had did the same thing.. Just wondering.
I actually tried this - although it wasnt quite the bottom steps it was 2-3 steps from the top. He turned right around and ran up - he seemed so spooked that I never tried it again. He's a little punk!!
hah! I love when he just runs around for no real reason and makes his own "track" up as he goes along !! he hasnt gotten to motocrossing stuff yet tho !!
I guess I will give it more time then and not *push* him to do it. I am southern NJ also - we visit ventnor city beach a lot - maybe we'll catch up one day and let the boys play! Brigantine is dog friendly also off season right? Maybe I'll go there this Saturday
thanks
Hi:
My 19week old Dexter wont go down a flight of stairs.. He is fine going down 1 or 2 steps, as going down the porch steps to go outside but from 2nd floor he wont do it. I've tried to coax him down but he just wont do it. I dont want to force him so I still carry him down.. Going up he...
Dexter is now ~15weeks old. I brought him to a dog park in Wilmington DE today where he ran around a bit with a little yorkie having so much fun. Looked so happy and cute. A little while after he starts having instability in his hind legs. He wouldnt be able to stand. He would sway then...
I should give Dexter coffee - KIDDING !!: when I was a kid I would always want to try coffee since all the adults drank it. - - my parents would tell me coffee would stunt my growth. .
