The weird things Shelties go ballistic over...

Riley really doesn't care PDAs between me and the wife. He allows one kiss, then he starts barking. We thinking of loaning him out to people with dating teenagers. No funny business will get by him. :biggrin2: He is also not a fan of laughing. My previous Sheltie would bark at...

    sheltie friendly vacuum

And if it doesn't move, that means a sheltie has done its job  Fortunately my sheltie does not attack a vacuum or even run from it. In fact that last time I used my table saw Riley laid down right beside it WHILE I was using it. Scott

    drinking lots of water

My sheltie Riley has been drinking alot of water lately. When I fill his water bowl up, he will just about empty it and what goes in must come out. Which means he is peeing a lot as well. I will be taking him to the vet this week. How concerned should I be? What could be the issue? BTW, he...

    sheltie friendly vacuum

I am looking for a vacuum that does a good job picking up sheltie hair. Hopefully one that wont plug up with every use. Anyone have any success with those that claim to be designed for dog hair?

What are your pup's favourite toys?

Rileys Toys Riley loves to play with a Loofa Floppy Dog Toy. We play tug of war with it. Once he gets it, he will shake it from side to side for a couple of minutes then drop it. He also likes finding play toys in the trash.

    Doggy Door

When I was training my late sheltie Ellie to use the doggie dog, she would only go out though it. It took another month before she would come in through it. One thing is guaranteed, if you are out and its raining, you will come home to a wet sheltie sleeping on the couch. Or was that just me?

    Shadowing

Riley will shadow me most of the day, especially in the kitchen. At about 11:30pm or so he gets up and goes to my bedroom wether I am going to bed or not. As far as disappearing acts at bath times goes, mine disappear as soon as I remove his collar.

    help for my hands...

He is really good with a normal treat like dog biscuits. He won't take it out of my hand until given a command. If he goes to snap, the treat is pulled away, he is given the gentle commnad. Then he will gingerly take the treat out of my hand. At meal times he has to sit down and stay until given...

    My Sheltie the Chaperone !

I am glad you all like the 'adult activities' line. I was just trying to keep this all G rated. This is a family forum after all. Its a good thing that Riley doesn't jump on the bed. I think he's a afraid of heights. LoL All he does is wake me up at 7am for breakfast.

    My Sheltie the Chaperone !

I am having a rather humorous behavior issue with my 5-year-old sheltie. It seems that he thinks that he is my chaperone. He does what he can to prevent my girlfriend and I from participating in 'adult activities'. When my long-term girlfriend comes over to spend the weekend it takes a little...

    help for my hands...

I have a 5-year-old rescue sheltie and I have had him for 10 months. I am having some food aggression issues. He is okay with his food but when you give him a treat he can get really aggressive. He has gone after my hand on 4 occasions. Broke the skind and drew blood all four times. The first...

    Puppy color?

My sheltie angel Marcus started out life as a sable and white. As he got older, black was mixed in with the sable. That was also the case with my parents sable and white sheltie.

How did your Sheltie get it's name?

Riley came to me from Sheltie Rescue with that name. Ellie (Sheltie angel) also cam to me with that name. Marcus (Sheltie angel) I picked up as a 14 week old pup. I was thinking of all kinds of names but had not settled on one. The breeder told me that she had been calling him Marcus but...

    My Recent Rescue

Here are a couple pictures of Riley. I recently adopted him from Sheltie Rescue of Georgia. He's 4 years old, probably from a puppy mill. Pics were taken while on vacation in Ontario. Guarding the Front Porch http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r261/scootermac1/100_0114.jpg Relaxing by...
