Is there a "Sheltie" collar?

well, the whole - it's really a good thing- and if Barb has it - I need to have one too  though I must say that I already have the thinning shears

You got the thinning shears! Which ones did you get???

I've been holding off to make one big order:

- new nail dremel
- thinning shears
- special toys
- grooming table/arm

So many choices. My mind spinning with indecision!

I posted the link in the shears thread- the shears set from Petedge- pretty rainbow colors- 3 shears for ~$100.
I'm happy with the Peticure
Callie doesn't play with toys
She gets groomed on the floor

I want some thinning shears myself! Only for the pants area though. It's very funny. I'm going to have to get a picture from up top. All ruff, fuzzy pants, and he looks naked in the middle! I really need to trim his fur up before stuff gets caught in it. :dead:

You do have to measure carefully. I already had regular martingales that were adjustable. I used one of those to measure the inside circumferance. I still wish Bacca's was 1/2" smaller, but he's still bulking up some so in the end if may be ok.

Duncan just graduated to his 2nd collar! His first was a hand-me-down from Pierre, which I only expected to last 2 weeks, not almost 5. I went with an adjustable flat nylon martingale. The cinch part is also nylon. The smallest is goes down to is 10" so it is a little too big at the moment. I got it at the same local business where I get their Taste of the Wild. It was $6 and is a solid blue. Nothing too fancy while he is growing up (and it adjusts to much bigger, so I think this will be the last collar before his fancy martingale).

I used the chance to test the 10" size on Pierre. It went on fine, but I had a moment of freak-out while I tried to pull it off. It slipped off once I realized it would be better to fold his ears back and under the collar first (they are huge ears compared to his body - part of the Papillon allure). Now I can breathe easy about my purchase and I know I have a good fit.

And for Pierre's LBD collar, we got a Green and Gold theme for my alma mater (USF Bulls) with the spotted design. With Duncan, we have more options for design as with 6 strands you can be more creative. I think we'll stick with the Green and Gold, which is really green and hazel, but have a different design. In any case, I am sure they will slip into the ruff where you can't tell. But we have a lot of Bull pride (Pierre even has a lucky jersey for game days - he's convinced that's why we were able to pull off the FSU game) and I am *sure* they will know how good they look.

Those leather braided martingales are the car's pajamas. I'm going to wait until the girls are grown before I invest in a permanent collar like that due to the expense. Matching lead - too cool!

They mostly slip into the ruff - at least for Indy, who's fur is very thick. Bacca's still pokes out sometimes. His is tan and turquoize. Looks great! Indy's is black and turquoize.

And yes someday, I will get the leads too!

Calliesmom, what do you think....should we send in an invoice for our commission cheque?

Definitely- especially if people are going to buy the matching leads :wink2:

I probably won't buy the matching leash (Smudge already has too many of those!), but I will absolutely be buying the collar when I'm sure he's grown. I actually don't think he's going to get much bigger. I was hoping he would be the same size as my other sheltie, but I don't think he will. Gizmo was much taller.

When you're a sheltie owner you can forget fancy collars. You can't see them! So you have to buy functional collars and spring for the pretty leashes instead. :biggrin2: Smudge has a vet leash (it has skulls on it for poison!), his Trixie and Peanut leash, a blue leash, and I'm sure there are others hiding out somewhere...

I also want one of those cool leash hangers they make. Several websites will do custom ones for you with a painted picture of your dog!
