Wellness Super5mix is only 5 stars .... you can be getting 6 stars with Wellness Core!:biggrin2: lol ( j/k)

I fed my first sheltie Alpo and she lived 14 years... although her last 3 weeks dealing with kidney failure were just horrible .. Did Alpo contribute to that? I guess I will never know. But my new puppy is getting TOTW now so maybe with some good food and God's Blessing I can get even more healthy years with my Snickers. (I wish a long healthy life for all of your beloved shelties as well).
 
14 years is a great life span! Don't drive yourself crazy worrying about what you fed your sheltie angel. More than likely her kidneys failed because of old age.

You know I can't get to your links of your puppy :confused2:, I would ove to though :yes:.

Quite frankly, I had to give up on all the food research and analyzation and feed Megan what I believe and what my sis-in-law Vet, personal Vet believe is good for her!

Here's hoping and praying that ALL of our beautiful Shelties live long healthy lives :wink2:

I don't believe there is anything wrong with grains, as long its they are good quality grains that are not at the beginning of the ingredient list.

Sadie also has dietary issues that mean she cannot have many dog foods, including Wellness Core, as the fat and protein content are too high for her.

I spent a week researching dog food ingredients and crude analysis before deciding to go for Wellness Super5Mix, so no, I could not do better. Believe me, I did my homework.

I totally agree with you!! These food analysis websites really seem to berate most any grain in foods. The ones the websites call 5 stars or 5 scoops, made Megan sick.

I am happy for the 14 years I had with her .... I just read somewhere that with PROPER FOOD ...love...shelter...( and barring the health issues of a given species ) your dogs life expectancy is 18 -25 years not 11-15.( the food factor being the main issue of not reaching 18 -25) Of course, you have to take internet advice with a grain of salt.

Just some food for thought.:uhoh:
