Sketch video...moving well :)

Sketch thanks you for the encouraging words. :smile2: We still have a month+, hopefully, before our now leaf covered grass becomes snow and ice covered grass...and very slippery. Thankfully this gives Sketch more time to become balanced and stronger before he has to handle that extra challenge. It would have been so much harder had this surgery been done mid-winter.

It is simply amazing how fast they adjust. Can you imagine, losing your leg, and in five weeks running around in the back yard? Good job Sketch!! (You too Trina!)
 
If you think boots might help for the winter for the back leg..Ruffwear has some nice ones. I have the Grip Tex ones, but it looks like they have even more versions now (and they sell singles, too! :winkgrin:)

Back when Gavin and I were hiking/backpacking, I even macgyver'd boot keepers with velcro and string so if they boots come off (really when), they stay attached to his leg and not get lost. Cause they didn't sell singles then, and even then they aren't cheap!
 
Trini, he's truly amazing! At the beginning of the video and several other times, I could even tell that anything was different. I'm go glad that you've shared this. It will be such a help to others going through the same thing.
 
I had tears in my eyes watching this. Like others, I would not know that he was on three legs in some parts. He's doing so well, what a brave boy! :hugs
 
It's really incredible how well he moves. So lovely to see. Your Sketchie is such a sweet, happy looking boy.

Yes, Sketchie truly is an inspiration. I find I am often the one to take emotional strength from him as I watch him cope and relearn how to live life fully in a different body. At moments when it hits me that I will never see my Sketchie's body "whole" again and tears fall...it is Sketch who is instantly at my side with tail wagging and eyes filled with love...telling me "It is OK, Mom, I am happy".

Wow! He looks so good and happy. This should give people hope if they are in the situation you were. It is always hard to decide to amputate, but this just shows how resilient our fur babies can be. This was the best choice you could have made for him and I am so happy for you all.
 
I have to admit I watched with tears in my eyes... truly inspiring how he's just getting on with life. He has such a wonderful kind face and eyes. I am just thrilled with his progress and spirit. If he isn't sick of them, please deliver a nose kiss to Sketch from me!
